So i've currently got a Q acoustics sub (1000si i think). I'm looking to upgrade as its getting a bit long in the tooth. Whats a good upgrade for around £300 or so, or is there any?

Cheers

I wasn't planning on reselling it tbh. It's had various liquids spilled on it despite being under a table (thanks kids:p). And i'd rather stick with new rather than used. Would there be a big improvement or is that a bit like asking how long is a piece of string?

I'm a bit of a snob when it comes to gadgets/toys. I like brand new stuff lol. The only constraint might he wear it sits, but I'm sure I can engine a solution to that:D.

TBH i suspected that the budget end of subs is very limited, i don't mind paying £450 for the BK one, i just didn't want to not say a budget and people suggest a 2 grand sub:p.

Would the BK sub just connect to the coax that i currently use(into the mono RCA)? Also whats the best setting on the back for use with a AV amp. I'm assuming crossover to max (as av amp has a crossover), and turn filter off? What does high gain mean?

Cheers

Edit looking at it, i think i'd only use the low gain in my setup and just ignore the high gain. Last question, this doesnt auto power off, how much juice will it use just idling as the tv is only on maybe 4 hours a day.

I've not bought it yet lads:D. I've read the manual and I understand now, I emailed them and the guy said each sub is built to order and if I want they can add in auto power off which is pretty cool. Ive not seen the high gain connector before and it seemed am odd way to connect it.

Just for reference i ended up buying the BK P12. All i can say is i'm glad it was delivered to my house as it would have been hard work fitting it in the car. Also i redid audyssey and it set my sub to +3.5db (with the gain dial at 12 o'clock). My old q acoustics was more like 9 o clock and it set that to -12db. I'm wondering if it being a small sub meant it was more boomy and it was doing wierd stuff to the calibration mike. Tonight im going to check youtube with a frequency range video to see how it sounds, however last time i did this there was still sound coming out my speakers even though the crossovers are higher than what was playing.
