Subwoofer next to your PC base unit?

Hi Guys,

Would it not be a good idea to put your pc subwoofer next to your computer base unit on the floor. I heard that the magnets inside the subwoofer will damage the hard drive discs and ruin the components inside.

What do you guys think? Do you still put both on the floor or put your computer on the desk. =)

I doubt your PC speaker sub is big enough to cause damage, and being a pc speaker it should be properly shielded anyway.

I've ran a sub next to my work PC for about 3 years without a problem. As long as its not touching it should be ok, unless you have some monster sub? Most 5.1's only have a small bass driver which shouldn't matter.

Ahh i see. And the vibration? it shouldnt cause much damage rite
