Didn't feel this was worthy of a project thread as I won't be doing anything else to it for a while.

Just wanted to thank everyone for the bits of advice and helping me choose the spec, managed to avoid quite a few pitfalls, spec can be seen in my sig if anyone is interested. I started at about 12.00 today and fired it up at about 5.00. Just finished installing and transferring bits across from the other computer.

The only slight issue I came across was a standoff/hole for the standoff that was slightly bent, meaning I had to take the motherboard out and persuade it to bend the right way. Set me back about 30 mins, so could have been much worse!

Thanks Again.

Glad to see everything went OK. :D

How do you like the case?

Case is quite good actually, not especially sturdy but it doesn't need to be really. Some of the machining on it isn't wonderful but it was only circa £35 so can't really complain.

Well done fella:)

Also pics required.

Taken some pics on my iPhone, will see if I can get them uploaded tonight.

Is the air flow good in that case?

Airflow seems fairly decent. It's not particularly cramped either at the moment, and I have added another side fan, all seems good.

Haha, not but seriously I will. I need to tidy it up a bit too as I just plugged it all in fairly quickly not cable managed. So will get it open tonight, I also need to check my PSU will support a few other little upgrades I am planning. Might have a couple of questions later.

Future plans are:

- Get a tray adapter thingy for my spare 2.5" drive from my old laptop that I'll use as a backup.
- Purchase a couple more fans and a fan controller.
- May upgrade the CPU cooler at some point, but the airflow seems quite good at the moment, and the CPU temps are nice and low so unless there is a great deal on that will wait for a while.
- Eventually get an SSD and transfer my OS and reinstall heavy duty software onto that.
