Hi all, in the market for a new phone and really do like my N82. Its been an excellent phone. The camera is bob on, the OS has ran pretty darn good, and its just been an all round good phone.

Just wondering if there is a successor to it out yet? Been havign a scout around and can obviously see the N97 is out, but I have spied the N86 which is also out. Does anyone have an N86 and is it the successor to the N82?

Cheers.

I'd just hang on to the N82 if it's not broken, I have yet to find another smartphone which has a camera with a proper flash so for me N82 = winrar

The N78 is pretty similar tho, has an FM transmitter I think...

N86 is the natural sucessor at the moment - its got the best camera module of Nokia phones, but no zenon (apparently the updated camera is supposed to negate this somewhat).

The N86 is definitely the N82 successor (arguably the N95 successor too). Only real downside is that it has a dual-LED flash instead of Xenon. The N86 can open its aperture a tad wider then the N82 though so it's not that much worse if you're not trying to capture motion.

I had an N82 and loved it for the camera and all round stability.
I ended up upgrading to a Nokia 5800. Camera is a bit worse but still decent, but it's just as stable and much much better for browsing, which I think was the N82's only major problem.

Is there anything out in the immediate future for Nokia which has a xenon flash like the N82? Or is the xenon not necessary to get good pictures anymore considering the N86 has dual LED's?

The Sony Ericsson Satio will have Xenon flash and will be on the S60 platform. I think the ETA is September.
