this might be a daft question, but here it is anyway

just about to do my first watercooled buid with a triple radiator in my new corsair 800d tower, so here it is.

does it make any difference if the fans sit on top of the rad and suck air out of the tower or sit under the rad and blow air through it and out the tower?

I think tests have shown that pulling is the best method. Not really sure, but that appears to be most people find.

Yes.

If they're taking cool air in then the rad is going to be cooler, meaning the loop is going to be cooler, meaning the components are going to be cooler. But it also depends where you place the rad in the case. Most people have a front=intake rear=exhaust layout, and putting an intake at the back is just going to screw with case airflow.

the rad fits in the top of the case, so should the fans be pulling outside air through the rad into the case or inside air through the rad to outside the case
