I've had the side off my PC for a few days to fit some new case fans but this morning when I went to fit them I found I had no screws long enough. I checked mail and looked at the web so I know that was working.
Turned off the PC, found I couldnt fit the fans so put the side back on.

Turned PC on, no POST, no beeps and no display. All fans work, all hdd's seem to have power as I can feel slight vibration and they get warm and all SATA connections on m/board seem secure. The pump works and water is moving.

Ive tried a different monitor but no joy. I'm upset and bewildered and would appreciate any ideas.

As an update, Ive tried it with 1 stick of RAM at a time with no luck but when I took all the RAM out I got "no RAM " beeps. Ive also checked the m/board on-board LED which is green for "OK".

I also unplugged all SATA drives and installed an IDE hdd which powered up OK but still no POST. I feel either the m/board is dead or it overheard me last night say I was thinking of an upgrade!

Off to see my mum in hospital now so wont be back until tonight.

Have you reset CMOS?

When its running, after a while touch all the heatsinks on the mobo, and the side of your waterblock, and your gfx etc, if one of them is cold then it aint working!

Have you tried with 1 gfx card? Might be worth taking everything apart and rebuilding again, something might be shorting somewhere

Ive reset the CMOS so thats my overclock up the swanny with no result. If the graphics card wasnt working wouldnt it still POST?.

I'll check the underside of the mobo later, cheers.

Ive now felt both the graphics cards and the underside of the mobo under the cpu and they are both warm. I guess that leaves the m/board as prime suspect?

hey mate sounds like what mine was doing earlier... and i was pulling my hair out.

firstly disconnect your tower from the mains and turn psu off then take the mobo battery out for at least 1 minute put it back in and reconnect and see if it boots.

if not

take all connections out and replug in to make sure nothing has come loose then follow step 1 agian and if it doesnt work.. try gcard in 2nd slot if you have a 2nd slot and if not then try it just as a basic boot with just the bare essencials.

hope it helps.

I'll give all that a go. I think I'll strip it down and start again but go back to air cooling.

I find the prospect of doing all this moving of parts very difficult when dealing with tubing etc.
