Hi,

I have a EVGA 760 SC in a small HTPC next to TV. Yesterday decided to try it on another PC which used to work with its onboard VGA. Everything worked great and then returned the card to the initial HTPC. The card is not working in this PC no matter what!!

I have tried the following:
1) Clear the CMOS
2) Tried several PCI slots
3) Tried the onboard VGA of HTPC and works fine
4) Tried the EVGA again on the other PC and works fine
5) Changed the power plug with another (!!)

Any other ideas??:confused::confused:

Hi,

if the card was working fine in this system, worked fine in the other system it do sound like there is maybe dirt/dust in the PCI.E port of the motherboard. Have you already tried to clean this very carefully?
Do you have another card you can try in the HTPC to see if it do work at all, maybe some component died....

Hi

I did not clean them however I did try one more PCI slot and the response was the same.
While in the PCI slot the fan of the card works but no signal is been sent to the TV.
I am starting to suspect something went bad with the motherboard...

Check Pci power cables are inserted correctly, i did this with a card and thought it was broke then i realised i hadn't plugged both pci cables in lol

Already done this. If you don't plug them well, normally the card outputs a message telling you "YOU SHOULD PLUG BOTH CABLES...etc". However I am not sure whether the cables do send current, I don't how to check them...

Problem NOT solved keeps coming back!!

Problem is NOT solved. Whenever I shut down the PC or put to standby/sleep mode, the problem reappears! In order to fix it I have to turn the PC apart and it will start again!!

thx everyone!
