Sudden USB connection issues

Over the past few days, I've all of a sudden been having issues with any USB device connected to my PC.

It started with my USB Wireless Wifi device, which when starting my PC up it seemed to not recognise and I would have the red cross over the internet connection icon. But all I have to do is unplug it and plug it back in and then it recognises it and works fine. This happens pretty much every time I boot my PC.

Then yesterday began the mouse issue. My mouse would regularly but inconsistently (if that makes sense, would keep happening but at different and seemingly random intervals) disconnect and reconnect itself. It plays the Windows disconnect and connect noise each time it happens.

Then today, I go to try and play a game using my wired 360 controller, and it doesn't seem to be recognised, having a flashing circle instead of the usual one bar indicator on it. And sure enough, started up the game and it wasn't working.

The controller issue just happened now, and after uninstalling and reinstalling the driver it seems to be working for now. However I tried the same thing for the mouse and it didn't fix the issue.

So any ideas?

I only fairly recently got a new motherboard, so could it be faulty? Or maybe a motherboard driver issue?
