Suddenly no signal to monitors

Hi all. My desktop PC was working fine up until yesterday. I went to turn it on but for some reason the monitors stayed blank saying no signal. I've opened it up, reseated the ram, removed and then reseated the battery, made sure all connections were snug, cleaned out dust, still nothing. I then dug out my old desktop pc and tried swapping my gpu for the much older one and suddenly both monitors fired up and all seemed fine. Ran a few driver updates and shut it down. Went to use it again today, all fired up fine but after about 10 mins use both screens suddenly went blank again saying no signal. I'm totally stumped.

My PC is a home build that's been perfect for 4 years with no issues.

Running windows 10 64bit.
Asus prime b450

Any help HUGELY appreciated

Loose display cable?

Does the PC still run in the background or has it frozen? (You can check event viewer if not sure)

How long did you wait for it to come back after 10 minutes? It could have been a Windows driver update.

Thanks for reply. Def not loose display cable, I've tried different cables and different monitors and can't get any picture, so because of this I'm also now unable to check event viewer, screens just say no signal.

Im using the hdmi and dvi outputs of my graphics card, but because this same issue has happened with 2 different graphics cards it can't be that that's causing an issue.

PC didn't seem to freeze, I left it for 4 or 5 mins after signal loss and then pressed the power button and it shut down OK. Just don't get any life from displays when I restart it.

Just bizarre that both displays suddenly stop working like that. I ran all the driver updates yesterday after I changed the gpu so would be surprised if it stopped working due to a windows driver update, though obviously can't be 100% certain.

Microsoft automatic gpu driver update may be at culprit.
Is there a way I can get a picture out of it so that I can roll back the driver? My 2 monitors are plugged into the hdmi and dvi outputs of the gpu right now, but the hdmi/dvi out direct from motherboard also don't give me any picture

I would just troubleshoot with 1 monitor connected for now, use the dvi straight into the graphics card.

Does the pc actually start to boot-up when you power on? ( fans spinning, leds on mobo etc... )

OK I've just tried powering it off and on 3 times to try to get it to boot into recovery mode and it seems to be working again and both displays are working. I'm sure it's only a matter of minutes b4 they go off again tho. I have checked the event viewer and went it went off an hour ago there were severel errors and warnings here is a few of note that all took place seconds b4 screens went off:

Warning-Faulting application name dwm.exe version xblah blah BLAH.. Faulting module name KERNELBASE.dll

Warning-Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered

Warning- The desktop windows manager process has exited (process exit code 0x... Restart count 1, primary display device Id Nvidia geForce gt610)

Any ideas how I can prevent this happening? So weird that same screen issues have happened with both gpu's that I have tried in the last 24 hours. The gpu it 1st happened with was a geForce gtx 1050 4gb
