Hi there,
I was hoping someone here could help me choose a suitable motherboard for upgrading my system. The basics of what I will require it to be compatible are;
ATI HD5570 gfx card
2GB DDR2 667MHz RAM
550 Watt power supply
2.67 gigahertz Intel Pentium 5 (Dual Core).

Not sure exactly what else would be of help, but if you need to know something i can easily post it up.

I would also like to ask if I would need to purchase a new copy of windows as I am currently running XP on my system and would ideally like to keep using it.

Thanks in advance! :D

I'm guessing the Pentium 5 is a socket 775 dual core?
Could you download CPU-Z and run that for us to get your exact CPU and we'll try and match a good motherboard for you.

You will need another copy of XP because when doing a major hardware change such as motherboard it requires you to re-activate your licence.
Also what do you want from this 'new' motherboard, gaming performance? ETC.

You probably won't need a new copy of XP.

You're not supposed to but I've installed the same OEM copy after upgrading and it's activated fine.

You may not be able to activate it over the net and have to use the "ring Microsoft" option.

But all this seems to be getting ahead of the game.

What difference do you think changing just you motherboard is going to make?
