I feel my system still performs really good with all latest games, however i did notice not so super with Battlefield Beta on High Settings, On medium its constant 60fps.

As you can see in my sig my current spec, As march is my birthday i always treat myself to a upgrade etc, say £600 budget. Now any ideas on what i should go with etc.

Thanks in advance :)

currently have Tuniq Tower 120-LFB CPU Cooler (Socket 478/754/939/940/AM2/LGA775) as my cooler if thats any good :)

but im not really into all this overclocking business you know!

I'd agreen with cat squeeze a few extra mhz out of that processor to begin with. Then wait till the end of march for Nvidia to unveil their fermi cards, if they a sucess grab a fermi card, if not then the price of the ATi cards will have more than likely to have dropped due to nvidias release so grab a 5870 or two in crossfire.

That should have you playing pretty much anything for the next 18 months maybe more

The Q6600 is known to be a decent overclocker and even my Q6600 with a 975X motherboard can get upto around 2.9GHZ on stock voltage and it has a high VID too!!
Also your motherboard will take the 45NM Intel Core2 processors:

I would also look at getting a secondhand Q9550 for under £150 too if you really cannot be bothered to overclock the Q6600.

Intel and AMD are both introducing new CPU architectures next year too.

So if i was to say... in theory, go with a i5 system and like a 5870 card.. would this be much improvement in performance in gameing etc over my current rig ?

Just get a 5850, my mates got i3 with 5850 n it eats battlefield beta alive son, q6600 has similar performance to a i3, but his is overclocked to 3.8ghz so i would suggest overclocking, after all you've been on overclocejkrs forum for nearly 6 years and not into overclocking!!!!!!
