I've recently been in hospital for surgery and I've come down with really bad anxiety. Need something to keep my mind occupied but don't want to spend any money. :D

Can anyone suggest some decent free 2 play games? Any genre is fine!

-Planetside 2.
-Star Trek Online.
-Champions Online.
-Neverwinter Online.
-Battlefield Heroes.
-League of Legends.
-Team Fortress 2.
-The Lord of the Rings Online.
-Star Wars: The Old Republic (free if you only really plan to do class stories).

League of Legends, Dota 2 and World of Tanks. The first two are not noob frieldly, they require a significant time investment to become a decent player. The latter is much easier as it's basically a shooter with tanks.

Dota 2.

Massive learning curve but very satisfying.

Don't let it consume your life though, as you sound a bit .... fragile at the moment.

Beneath a Steel Sky (classic point & click adventure, it's been freeware for a few years now)

Join GoG and you get a few games free when you set up your account.
They have a sale on at the moment and sometimes, they offer free games.

Also, get on Steam, vote on the community choices and sell the reward cards. Save enough and buy something.

I don't really understand how levels work on Steam, but you need to have a level 8 account to receive those rewards for voting. (I'm level 2, so don't get them)

LoL is designed for noobs! ;)

Dota2 - although if you offend easy AND are suffering anxiety its maybe best giving it a miss.

TF2, PoE and Star Trek Online are all reasonable time sinks, as is WoW to level 20 (i think its free) and Hearthstone.

They get backdated, increase levels by ....um....making badges from card drops gained from playing eligible games, buying stuff and er...other ways. Probably.
