I've got a white midgard at the moment, with blue LED fans, and as much as I love it I'm probably gonna get rid of it. I want something abit smaller and subtle, and most of all I would love it to be as quiet as possible!

I was thinking of getting a Xigmatek Asgard case, as I've built lots of them and do quite like them. Can also get it cheap through work.

But I also would quite like to do some mods on it, as its something I've never tried outside of work and want to do something myself. Now I know the Asgard isn't exactly a case with lots of potential, which is where you guys come in!

I would love it if you guys could recommend some cases I could do a bit of modding to, and recommend some specific things I could do to it. Probably got about £50 to spend on a case, then it doesn't really matter about the cost of the mods because I can do them over time.

Thanks in advance!

I'm assuming if you gonna tear it apart with various mods you don't want to spend a great deal on it?
Maybe a windowed case and get it etched with something, cathodes/led's usual stuff, powdercoating maybe? go for a extravagent colour sceme that matches with your components, what about watercooling? i have idas... but i cant put them in a post :(

As I said, about £50 on the case would be fine. I don't wanna go mad and tear the whole thing apart, I just wanna do abit of modding to something I actually own instead of for a customer! Any reason you can't put your ideas in this thread?

I suppose you could paint those front grilles a nice colour, perhaps something that complements a LED fan inside. I'd probably want to paint those plastic knobs clips inside the same colour.

Inside you will need to cover those vents on the side panel, possibly install a window to get rid of them. I think vents look bad on a side panel.

Cable braid on the PSU cable inside, again to complement your chosen colour scheme.

Remove fan grilles as they look very resirtive and install u-channel.

Subtle lighting.

You know those switches where you lift up the red thing when lift up the switch? Get some LED Fans or cathodes/led's ect, wire them up to that switch bank so you can activate the fan/lights when you want: http://crave.cnet.co.uk/gadgets/top-ten-off-switches-49293357/3/

Spray the case a colour of your choice, get it powdercoated, have your nickname or something etched into the window of the case, as Tealc said do those, maybe hve a military them to go with those switches for the lights/fans, then the ones you see in the films with the real big green power button and red off button: http://www.screwfix.com/p/crabtree-2-way-stop-start-push-button/51394
Maybe camo it up, or go with an industrial theme, alluminium step plate look wit hthe black and yellow step plate look.
Maybe put some custom sounds in, for example a powering on sound for a electronic machine, or a big diesel firing up ect
