i get called a tramp now almost daily because of my shoes so figured it's time for some new ones.

having gone though 3 canvas shoes (vans, converse and cheap primark ones) this year i'm looking for something which lasts a little longer and provides a bit better support. compared to my nike airs that i wear for work which feels like i'm walking on, you guessed it, air, i feel like i'm walking on the ground with these canvas shoes.

open to any suggestion. i realise i can go into a shop and try some pairs on, however given i've had converse and van canvas shoes i thought they'd last and they both didn't, getting holes around the edge and underneath too quickly, so i'm hoping users on here can suggest some shoes which are actually comfy, look decent and last more then 4 months.

Nike's SB range has got loads of nice skate shoes that aren't the typical chunky ones at the moment.

Kostons, Janoskis and Roriguez are all quite slim and nice. Similar shape to what you have already but less flimsy. Not mega cheap though.

dc's, or if fashion sense isn't a priority then a good pair of light hiking boots, used to have a pair of them lasted me at least 6-7 years before they finally died last year, wear dc's now though.
