I've a HP Pravilian PC (i think, it has no markings or idintifications on or in the pc.. that i've been able to find

recently its stop working (obviosly..) i suspect its the power supply thats gone amiss, i dont see any lights appear on the Main Board, when pressing the power button the machine stays off and no power seems to be recived by the main board.

i belive the :
power supply is a model : LC-8460BTX

and

mother board model is : K9N6SGM-v : k9N6SGM-V

I thought it might have been a problem with the RAM but re-seating it doesn't result in any power up, i've disconnected the power supply from the PSU and tryed to Depower it (press hold power button) nada, and left the unit disconnected over night to see if the PSU will reset its self.
(Note. all comonents i.e. sound, video & networking all built in to mother board) and their are no other comonents to disconnect.

PC is beingused for work purposes and would like to get it up and running agin even if for a short while wise we look at alternatives.

the PC was working in the morning and then swithed of all seemed fine until we came to turn it back on again.

Their are renavation works going on (i.e. house extension) and the PC was near the works for a short while before moving to another part of the house away from the builing works so i'm wondering if bick and plater particles might have messed with the PSU. (before it was moved to its new location we di have a quick clean up of the inside of the case to try and remove the brick dusk (CPU heat sink was chock full of rubish). But it was working after we cleaned it up (that was about 2-3 weeks ago.

any suggestions :
1) suitable power supply from the Uk, i see some 450 watt in the shop but honestly not to sure how compatable/comparable they are to whats their already.
2) other actions to take / tryed

i have a :
Liteon PS-5301-08HF 5188-2627 ATX 300W PSU Power Supply - seems to low wattage to use
and can get old of :
some power supplys from some HP Business models (will check tommorrow) D530/7100/7600(seems 365 max watt)/DC7700

appologies, but i'm not really a hardware man

Any help or suggestions appreciated.

Can't do much more than agree with the previous comments. OCUK Swift PSUs have been know to blow after very little use. Corsair are reliable along with a 3 year warranty.
