Suggestions for a PHP based image gallery/rating/commenting app?

I'm looking to try and do something useful with my unused domain and hosting, and would like to have some sort of image gallery app that would allow the following:

• Image uploading by anyone, but needs approval by mods.
• Image commenting by anyone, also needs approval
• Image rating
• Optional registration with user management and permission levels.
• A front page that will display things like latest users, latest images, highest rated images, latest comments, etc.

I have looked at some scripts like Gallery but it doesnt appear to let anyone other than the site admin to add images etc, and i was hoping to find one decent enough to be XHTML compliant and use CSS etc.

I have plenty of MySQL db's free so would be great to use that too.

Any suggestions?

Well Coppermine seems to do everything i want...there's just something about it i don't like too much, bah i'll get used to it - unless someone has any better suggestions?

It's called Gallery2, just click the link down the bottom of the page for more info about the Gallery. It runs on PHP and SQL, and supports comments etc.

It even gets the details of the camera that took the picture, from the file!
