Hi,

I'm looking for an MP3 player I can use at gym.

It needs to be rechargeable and quite small. Playing videos and all those other gadgets do not interest me at all, as long as the sound is good.

Budget is about £100 and obviously the memory capacity needs to be as big as possible.

One important note is that I'd like to drag and drop MP3s and not have to mess around with installing additional software to do this.

It also needs to be quite rugged as I'll be running with it as well.

Any help and suggestions welcome!

Thanks.

Lol. Yes, buy an overpriced fashion accessory. :p

Friend of mine prefers the cheap ones that take a normal battery, he doesn't like the idea of not being able to replace the battery when it's life is shortened by constant recharging. Maybe he thinks replacement batteries aren't available. I'll have to tell him, but when I speak to him, it never comes to mind. Those cheap Chinese key type ones really are crap, last one he got, the headphone socket broke.

Suppose it's quite amusing in a way. :p

Hmm. Well possibly the original Sansa Clip. The 4GB version is about £30 new.

Nothing wrong with the original Ipod Shuffle apart from the price. The new model has been getting some pretty bad reviews though.

Thanks for the replies. Just had a quick look at it and it seems like a decent mp3 player. How is the battery life on it as I noticed the internal battery is NOT replaceable.

Asuming you're asking about the clip, I have the original, not the '+'. One charge lasts me well over 8 hours. The manufacturers claim 15.

G3 ipod nano is great, the square-kinda-shaped one, not the newer rectangle-shaped ones. I imagine you could pick one up on ebay or something!

Manafacturers claim a lot of things. I was quite surprised when I read a review of the Sony NWZ 8 series I have, that they found the batt lasted 36 hours, music only. Sony claim 30 hours. Sony being a tad modest! Never thought I would see the day. :p

After owning it 2 years, I think anything near 30 hours would be wishful thinking on my part.

I wonder what MP3, or make/brand, would have the longest battery life, as far as recharges go.

Oh dear, a link to an etailer that isn't OCUK. :(

Tbh, thats got way too many 1* reviews. Can't be good for something to get nearly as many 1* reviews as 5*. :p

Got a sansa clip for exactly the same reason, sounds better than my Ipod video, price was right too!

My 1st Gen ipod shuffle 512mb is still going strong. I tunes actually works very well with it, battery life and sound quality are still excellent. It sounds a lot better than my ipod classic, which is annoying

Zen stone

best gym mp3 player i have ever had

gets covered in sweat and never breaks. 3 years of sweat filled antics and it is still amazing.

great intuitive interface as well so you can change things by touch rather than looking at them.

Had a sansa clip 2gb for over a year now, i use it both at the gym and whilst working (eg. heavy duty construction work). To this day it still works fine and never had any issues with it, it is also drag and drop.
