Hi (this is question evening for me :P)

i have a server based in a data centre with 3tb of raided disc space and would like to backup my local server and several of my clients to this server over the interwebs.

Is this doable? its currently running sbs but i can always change it to linux.

I wanted to backup in the evening, incrementaly, and then have a report sent to me saying (oh rly backup complete)

im after some server site piece of software that can create accoutns and assign X amount of space to that backup account then have some software on the client boxes tat push to the ip address of the server.

so umm if that all made sense? (no idea)

Any suggestions :D

Many thanks

First things first, have you worked out your bandwidth requirements?

Both the upload from your client sites and the downstream on your datacenter.

As for bespoke software I have only dealt with live replication (DoubleTake f.ex) I am sure there is plenty of consumer grade stuff out there that will do this if it is raw data only.

datacentre is 100mb with plenty of bandwidth allowance the sites are normal broadband sites.

i know theres several offsite backup companies that all seem to be using the same software but just rebranded, but ive no idea what the original software is, im assuming that it also has a server site to go with the software.
