I've not used the floppy disk drive on my PC for years now. I was thinking about removing it and possibly replacing it.

Have other people replaced their FD drives with something else??

people generally remove them and have two dvd-rom or better drives in their pc. thats it really lol.
:p

Already have 2 DVD drives (1 dual layer rewriter).

Floppy drives are just useless nowadays. Thing is - something in Windows keeps looking on the drive. I've already unplugged it, but was looking for something to fill the space when I remove it.

I was thinking fan conroller or USB 2 ports but all the one's I've found so far have been 5 1/4 and not 3 1/2.

I might just put a blanking plate over it.

A USB pen drive is a good alternative for smaller files transferring.

I've got a 256Mb one and use the drive space on my IPod to transfer major files.

I'll see if I can get a USB drive thing to replace the 3.5 FD drive.

Mitsumi FA 404M 7in1 USB 2.0 Floppy & Media Drive - Black (HD-002-MI)

With that you get the joy of keeping your floppy drive, and you get media card slots as well. Or go with a fan controller or mini LCD screen.
