Mainly use the rig for gaming does a pretty decent job tbh, Just thought what I could upgrade to improve the performance in general. Mainly play CS:GO, BF3 & WoW. I was considering going Intel although I'm using W7 64bit OEM, Therefore if I was to get a new motherboard I couldn't use the code from what I've heard? So thought I'd ask you guys as you know much more than I do :D

Current System Specs:
AMD Phenom II 850 @ Stock 3.30Ghz
PNY GTX 550TI
Asus M5A78L-M/USB3 AMD 760G
G.Skill RipJawsZ 8gb @ 1600mhz
Antec True Power Modular 550W
Cooler Master 430 Elite

YOUR BASKET
1 x Intel Core i5-3570K 3.40GHz (Ivybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor (77W) - Retail £167.99
1 x HIS HD 7850 IceQ X 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card (H785QN2G2M) w/ Nexuiz & Sleeping Dogs PC Games £149.99
1 x Gigabyte Z77-D3H Intel Z77 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard £80.99
Total : £410.36 (includes shipping : £9.50).

Then sell your mobo, cpu and gpu to recoup some money. Then invest in a decent cooler, if you don`t` have one. You could also get an ssd.

Winning idea above. will put you more than in good stead for future.

With windows install the copy you have and then ring Microsoft to activate it, tell them, that your old Motherboard is broken and will not be used again and they should transfer the licence across for you.

No, just install it again. And when you get in touch with microsoft, just tell them your mobo packed in and you have had to replace it. Normally works.

Always best to do a fresh install.

I believe the OEM signature is assigned to the motherboard, hence having to request a new key if the motherboard is changed.
