I'm looking for a wifi extender/booster which has a better range than what I currently have which is Netgears WN3000RP universal wi-fi range extender, are there any devices that can give me a better range? I get a decent signal from inside the middle of the room but it could be better and anything close to a wall the signal drops drastically. I can't run any cables really as I don't own the home as it's my parent's in laws home so getting a new device would be my best option. They have the BT home hub if that is any help and its ran through the landline as we cannot get fiber optic ADSL I think it's called I'm no expert.

If you absolutely can't run a cable anywhere then I think wireless mesh technology is likely to be the answer here. It's still relatively in its infancy and I have no personal experience but some others on here have so may have some recommendations.

Hi. I have the virgin super hub with a net gear to thing in the hall about 3 metres away. My kitchen and bedroom are 4 metres away from the extender and the signal just drops and buffers all the time. Will this devolo power line adaptor do the trick.

Ubiquiti, you can do WiFi to WiFi extending but it takes a 50% speed drop. If you get a LR version you could cable it next to the router.
