Hey everyone!

This is a bit of a random question but hey! Does anyone have any suggestions on how I should set up my desk to maximise the space and make it comfortable to use? Or do I just leave it as it is!

Ps. It does need a clear up!

Monitor pushed back into the corner for maximum keyboard and mouse space. I envy anyone who can have a corner desk... Maybe it's just because I have long arms lol

Take a look in the desk gallery thread for some inspiration.

You have too much stuff on the desk and under. Do you have much space to the right of the desk where the fan is? You could put a filing cabinet or shelving unit there and move the printer and documents from under your under your desk.

Move the monitor to the corner, place a light behind it and place the speakers on the side. Put up some artwork.

Do you really need or use everything on the desk? Its been years since I used a printer, I'd also consider adding some shelving.

It looks like it needs a good clean too tbh, the mat looks a bit iffy and there's a fair amount of dust from the looks of it (speakers etc).

Thanks everyone! Agreed my mouse pad is in desperate need of a wash and the desk needs a proper wipe down and clean! The clutter is what made me start a clear up. Unfortunately, I do indeed use the printer more than most people for work and university.

I don't have much space to the right of the desk by the fan, there's a gap of a couple feet and the foot of the bed.

I have started with a clean up and dust. I really should clean that desk more! (Mouse mat will get washed tomorrow!)

I have moved the little sub for the speakers under the desk. Tucked my focusrite behind my work laptop.

It looks much better, still a little iffy on where the lamp should go and where the focusrite should go long term.

The left corner still looks untidy, too many cables visible at the back of the computer and going to the laptop. If your laptop has USB-C, a dock will help hide the mess. If your budget allows, a wireless keyboard and mouse will clean up the right side.

I really think adding some shelving, even if just in the corner above the monitor would help a lot for bits and bobs while making it look more organised.

You do absolutely need to move the printer on. If it is not network capable you can get wireless adaptors to convert it from wired usb to wireless and stick it in another room out of the way.

Tidy up and cable manage a little bit and it'll feel much more roomy even without actually getting rid of anything.

There looks like there might be space on the right-hand side, so you could go for a bigger desk, if you can justify the expense. Failing that, could you put the PC tower on the floor?

What's in the corner? A sub? That could go on the floor too.

The printer is a bit of a beast, but if you need it, you need it. If you could put that into the corner instead of that sub (or whatever it is), that might help.
