Hi,
Lately I have been getting annoyed at the noise my system is giving off when on the desktop and gaming. I am wondering what people think is the best method to quieten down the system.
My system:
E7200 stock (Did overclock it but removed that to reduce heat from that)
HD4850
Antec Sonata 3 case running a single 120mm extracting air at the rear
Antec Earthwatts 500W psu (80mm fan, 80+ efficiency)
Now firstly the main culprit in games is the HD4850. That is loud, it makes me want to cry its that loud. What is my best option to sort this problem out? I have loads of space as I don't really run any other expansion slots.
It is worth fitting a quieter fan to my psu or blocking it off from the rest of my pc? I am aware that the heat produced from the cpu and gfx card will be rising up towards it and that will be trying to extract the heat through the psu, making the fan inside it spin faster than needed.
Just doing usual stuff on the desktop gives me the following temps:
CPU core = 44C
GPU = 83C
Then I have 2 more temps in speedfan which I'm not 100% sure on.
Temp 1 = 42C (system?)
Temp 2 = 28C (hdd?)
Right now it is at a decent noise level, but if I do anymore or if the house is much warmer then it soon shoots up. Annoying when using TVersity to my xbox as thats when I want it quiet.
