Hi,

Have managed to save £850 in reasonably quick time and have already purchased a Samsung B2430H monitor from Overclockers. Now I just need everything else including an OS. Main purpose, quite honestly will be for gaming, web-browsing and some word-processing. Would really like the NZXT Hush 2 Silent Midi Gaming Case with Fan Controller - White for aesthetic reasons but cold be persuaded otherwise if there are better but less pretty cases around. This will be my first build so looking for components that won't be impossibly difficult to put together.

Thanks in advance for your time and help.

i5 2500k
corsair vengence 1600mhz 4gb
Asrock Z68 Pro 3
ATI 6870
CM GX 550W "80 plus bronze"
Gelid Tranquillo Cooler
WD Cavier Blue 1TB Sata3
Samsung DVD RW
NZXT Hush 2
ASUS 22" Monitor
Creative T3130 2.1

This would do you well!

Specs Wise,

Good asrock board, awesome cpu to go with the x68 chipset, good memory, very capable gpu and large fast hdd

I thought it looked crap to be honest:D

Terrible board that only has a single 16X PCI_E slot, slow graphics card, no operating system etc.

If the OP doesnt need a keyboard+mouse etc.

A GTX570 dumps on a 6870
Motherboard supports 8X/8X SLI/crossfire
Modular 750W PSU.

I would pay the extra fiver and get the Corsair Vengence, much better memory!

And nice on for sticking with the Gelid Tranquillo cooler. Very good cooler!

Its only that its on a "today only price" once it ends, then the next cheapest RAM kit goes in, but not one with slow CL10-10-10-10 etc timings such as the Crucial Ballistix, but the next 1600MHz CL9 kit whatever that maybe.

Thanks Stulid, that looks like a really nice spec - is there any benefit in increasing the ram to 8gb? Will buy the keyboard on top of the price and have a logitech mouse that i use with my laptop until more overtime can be done.

Sorry Im £20 over.

You can SLI/Crossfire with this motherboard, its also good - http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/z68xp-ud3-dz68db,review-32228.html

The PSu is modular cbaling and more than enough for a pair of GTX560ti cards.

Would be nice if you could.
