long story cut shortish....................

my rig
900gb (random sata hdd's)
cheapo 400w psu
xfx 6600gt
2gig g.skillpc4000 ram
a8n sli mobo.
opty 165 cpu

now playing games my 6600gt wasnt hacking it anymore so i changed it for a x1900xt gpu, got a power connector molex for my psu, and there it all went wrong. so i brought a new all singing all dancing 620w enermax psu with already included atx 2.2 power cable, connect it and nothing!!! so i have it suggested to me that i have a dead mobo, i now have brought myself a asus a8n sli premium. connect it all up and i get one long warning beep followed by two short ones. my friends say this is ram, but ive tried 6 different sticks and it still wont boot. i just cant get it past the post at all, really frustated now.

my corsair wont run on this mobo but will on my mates rig but my main g.skill wont run at all on his rig.

any ideas please?

sorry for whingy post.

well ive tried my ram in his rig to no avail, but he not too willing to take his rig apart. so no not really. its almost getting to the stage that i pay some little guy to come round and fix it for me and im really not chuffed at that idea.

Hmmm....

Might be Ram but possibly more like the GPU. It is also possible that a cheap power supply has damaged the RAM/GPU. I fried an Epox Motherboard with a cheap PSU. Though the damage was noticeable.

Can you not try your X1900XT on yer mates machine? eliminate that as a possibility.

Have you made it into the Bios, maybe need to tinker with it. Is the RAM DDR?
if so has it been seated in the appropriate channels?
