Hi,

I'm looking for a small case that'll take a M-ATX board. I'm ideally after a 'tower' style case this time and already having a build in a Silverstone Sugo Mini-ITX case that's the range I initially looked at.

The space the PC is slotting into isn't very deep so depth is the main issue as the computer needs to be facing forwards, height and width aren't really a problem. The SG03 (200W/360H/312D) seems ideal but is pretty pricey and OcUK don't stock it. Are there any alternatives worth considering, preferably available from OcUK?

Cheers
Greg

I see the SG03 for £81, that's about the going rate for a good case these days.

You aren't going to get much better in terms of mATX tower cases. Maybe the TJ08? Or the NZXT Vulcan?

Cheers chaps.
The TJ08 is a bit too deep, max depth is about 360mm iirc. The fortress and the LianLi are out of budget I'm afraid but I'll look into the NZXT Vulcan. Build quality isn't a massive issue to be honest as it's gonna be stuck in a cupboard out of sight so as long as the cooling is adequate then cheaper=better for this one (I'm also a bit an NZXT fan - my last 2 main PCs have been in NZXT cases and have been superb).
Thanks again for the help.
Greg

EDIT: Wow, just looked at the Vulcan and that is one ugly case, how they can call that crafted I do not know. It's also too deep but thanks for the suggestions, the SGO3 seems to be the winner.

crafted from the branch of the ugly tree tbh
wonder what it's like with the plastic off!

what where you going to put in it?

No idea if correct, but Ezcool 727-03B is listed as 350 mm deep. Plus it is a cheap case.

Edit: Mis-read depth Silverstone as 360mm when is 312mm, so above no good.

Gonna be putting a H67 Sandybridge rig in it with one of the low power chips. I'm quite looking forward to seeing how it runs as it's looking suprisingly cheap!

That EZ-Cool case would probably be alright but ideally I'm after one without a PSU as if it doesn't take a regular ATX PSU I'd be stuck with the crappy one they've put in themselves - much rather stick something reliable in it and pay a bit more tbh. Cheers anyway.

Hi gcaster. I've got both the Lian Li V351B and the Sugo SG03 and of the two I'd probably prefer the Lian Li. The cooling options on both are limited, but that might not be an issue with a low power chip. I have an NT06E in the SG03 and a Mini Ninja in the LL, both infinitely better than stock.

Did you look at the ISK series from Antec? If you could go to a M-Itx board the 150W PSU on the ISK300 is more than enough to run a Sandybridge system (with a low profile graphics card if necessary). Another M-Itx option is the SG05 range, which are fantastic.

You should access the Members Market and place a "Wanted" ad for whatever you decide, as you should be able to pick up a nice case for substantially less than new.
