Suitable Graphics card for Asus K8S-MX for Video and 3D apps

Hi I have an Asus K8S-MX Motherboard - Athlon 64 Socket 754 SiS 760GX and want to use it for multimedia applications such as Cinema 4D, After Effects and Premiere but also for using with 3D multiplayer software i.e second life.

I use this machine also for music applications and do not want anything to conflict with an M-Audio Audiophile 2496 soundcard.

I was hoping to spend no more than about £70.

Any ideas?

I think you're going to find yourself very hard put to find a card for that motherboard on a budget of £70. AGP isn't really used anymore and components on that platform tend to cost more than their newer PCI-E counterparts.

If you can stretch tthat budget another £10-£15 then you can get a 7600GS, but not from this website. I obviously cannot mention where because it's against forum rules, but they are easy enough to find.

It's not a powerful card, but it should show a marked improvement over the SIS onboard.

Thanks for that. I think I'll have to save up then and boost my budget to about 150-200, to get something better. Is it better to go pci then or stick with AGP with this motherboard?

if you wanted to keep your budget down your best bet would be to go second hand and get a 6800 GT
