Suitable NF7 northbridge fan?

Can anyone suggest a suitable northbridge fan? My fan has just gone on my Abit NF7 board! :(
Had that happen with mine. Just removed the fan and made sure there was some airflow over the heatsink and it ran fine :)
The cpu cooler I was using was one from akasa that deflected some air straight down over the NB.

If your worried about it overheating, there's a very nice Zalman one (the ZM-NB47J), that will do the job perfectly, once again you'll want to make sure there s airflow in your case, but it won't need to be such a direct strong flow as with using the stock heatsink - fan.

Thanks for that. I don't know how long its been like this I have only noticed since I have been testing this system and I had the cover off whilst booting. Whenever I boot all the other fans come on except northbridge and I have to touch it with something and it then will spin.

I don't feel very keen on just leaving it, so I will probably end up going for that zalman I think!

My gf is going to have this system once I get my mobo replaced so I better go and purchase it lol

The zalman is the way to go - cools as good/better than the existing HS/fan and is silent and can't break - I have switched out the hs/fan on most of my NF7s and an AN7 for the zalman.

Looks quite big in the pic, just hope it fits lol. Just looking at it now there isn't all that much space around the NB!

That one is new to me, lOOks quite cOOl too! :)

I used the older Zalman (ZM-NB47J) with a few NF7-S mobos, fits perfect and works a treat. The boards should have come like this is as standard.

Let us know how u get on, try and take a before and after pic for anyone else that may be interested in that newer Zalman. . .

Im using the Vantec copper jobs from OCUK.

I use them in many many of my Mobos,

NF7, NF7S, Neo2, Neo4, DFI LP250UT, all use one.
