hello and good evening to everyone, i hope you are all well! i am new to this forum so hope i am posting in the right place but my apologies if not! so, unfortunately my current setup (a gaming laptop) has been having problems recently and so i am looking to upgrade. my main uses are to use it for 1) general productivity, 2) playing a mixture of games including newer and more intensive ones (examples being dead space, hogwarts legacy, silent hill 2, alan wake 2), and 3) music production. as i understand, music production is an activity which is more cpu-intensive and i am someone who does use quite a few third-party plugins and sample libraries, so making sure i have a pc that is able to handle processing all of that and storing my plugins / samples is my main priority alongside gaming.
i've been doing research for some time now but man, it is so overwhelming! for someone who's not quite as tech-literate when it comes to pc specs like me, admittedly it all gets quite confusing haha. because i've been having problems currently, i feel like i would want to upgrade now, and i'd much prefer nvidia gpus if possible because dlss is a game-changer for me, though i am not so worried about ray-tracing and all that. at the moment i can only see myself playing on 1080p so i'm not too worried about playing at higher resolutions either. from my understanding, however, it appears that the new series of nvidia gpus is set to be released this upcoming year, and so whilst it is tempting to upgrade now, i wonder if it would be worth waiting for those? i'd think about it, but i have heard that maybe mid-series rtx 50 series gpus might be hard to get ahold of for a while and could be quite expensive.
i'm working with a precise budget of about £1550 as i do of course have to make space for a new monitor, keyboard, etc. browsing the overclockers shop it looks like there are quite a few great options including this mach 3 pc (hope the link works) which seems quite affordable but also great value for money. from my understanding this pc looks great for gaming, but i wonder if the cpu would be good for music production as well? i could lower my budget if i wanted to, but im willing to have it at £1550 as long as i can get a pc that's going to last me as long as possible. to be able to do music production and do gaming with new aa / aaa titles would be a dream, and if after a while i have to turn down some graphics or put on dlss or whatever that's totally okay with me.
tldr; looking for a new long-term mid-range nvidia pc working with a budget of £1550 which i will mainly use for 1080p gaming and music production. which pc is best to get now for my budget, or should i wait until the rtx 50 series next year? sorry for the long post, im quite bad at summarising info! and thank you in advance for any help
