I am considering upgrading to an 880GTS. I currently use a 7800GT. My PSU is a Akasa Paxpower 460W unit that I bought 3 years ago.

The minimum PSU spec for a 8800 GTS is quoted as 500W. Would my Akasa be up to the job or should I budget for a new pSU as well?

My spec is as follows:

Abit AA8 3rd Eye Mobo
3.4Ghz P4 550
2 Gig DDR2
2 X Raptors RAID1
2 X Optical drives
19" Sony TFT

The 8800 GTS seems an obvious upgrade that would breath logevity into my system I think.

Welcome to the forums, your Akasa is a quality PSU so should be absolutely fine. The warning about 500w is generally there to allow for generic PSUs which do not supply close to their quoted output. :)
