Suits - Best place for them?

that sounds a bargain...that sounds too good to be true..?
It was good enough for me...
I had two weddings and some dining out that needed a suit. We have a couple of proper fitters and their stuff is very nice... but I really don't have the money to buy 2-3 Titan GPU's worth of suit, especially when the material is fancy Italian stuff that only works on a sunny Firenze day rather than a cold wintery English one!!

You have to pay attention to which rack you pick from, but yes they really do the whole shabang for silly-low money.
This isn't as cheap as the price tag suggests, but it's not so pricey that I'm afraid to go near anything in it, either. In fact, it's cheap enough that if you do have an accident (or someone else has one at you), you can buy a new one without too much fuss.

But put it this way - I would sooner pay five times more to get this suit, if it meant I never have to even look at that ****ing bunch of clueless, arrogant, ignorant ***** in Moss Bros ever again!!!

quite likely polyester or wool blend
very likely fused
.......err........ yeah..... poly-thing..... what you said.... is that bad, then? :)

TBH, I'd have to go look at the label. I don't really do smart suits.
I do know it's not worsted wool, which was the last suit I had... back when the date began with a '19'... it might even have had an 8 in it!!

I used Slater's Menswear.
£85-ish for a complete 3-piece, the price of which included doing some tailoring, resulting in a well-fitting suit.
Pretty good, IMO...

They have branches in many of the big places, but there isn't one in London, unfortunately.

I don't know about the £85 for a 3-piece but I've used them for a few suits in the past and if they had a branch in London I'd probably use them again. There's doubtless better quality out there but the stores have a wide selection in various price ranges and they do tailor them for you at no extra charge so it's worth a look if one happens to be nearby.

As im morbidly obese at the moment, I just buy the slaters cheap suits, the £85 stuff is ok for work and the odd wedding, but you do get what you pay for. Whats nice is that they do free alterations aswell. They do better suits aswell, and some ive bought in the past for my old man, have been excellent, really nice suits for £200 or so, classic cuts, and good quality material, easily as well made as some of the bespoke stuff ive had from asia in the past.

Once ive lost the weight, im going to treat myself to a nice tailored suit, only 20kg more to go :p
