US: Suits Season 8

Seems like there isn't a thread yet and each season has had it's own thread in the past, so lets get this party started :)

Firstly I'd like to say that Suits hasn't actually been good since Season 4.
5 was just weird, and 6 and 7 basically turned the show into a caricature of itself while making each character act in the most retarded way possible. Any anyone who could have written the character of Louis and been happy with what they did should never be allowed to write for TV again.

Unfortunately, I'm getting more of that vibe from season 8.
It's almost embarrassing to watch previously loved characters swaggering about like they own the universe and everything that comes out of their mouths has to be a quippy and cool one-liner or some other unnatural nonsense.
And they have added a "strong female" character.
And by "strong female" character, I mean those really terrible ones that are in every single TV show.
You've seen them.
1) Gorgeous
2) Be in the top 0.01% in the world at whatever their profession is.
3) As smug and unlikable as the day is long. Not confident,..... SMUG !

Why do I keep watching?
Good question. Maybe because it still holds a special place in my heart for how it used to be when it started.

The new intro is pretty good I guess. :D

I guarantee that at some point, Harvey and Sam (Smug lady) will have a fight in the ring, and she's gonna either give him a proper run for his money or will flat out win. Because that's just the world we live in now.
 
I lost all hope of this season being any good when they cast Katherine Heigl (who hasn't worked on TV since she her Grey's Anatomy days due to how she went about that whole situation)

Not watched the first episode yet going to try giving it ago over the weekend and see how bad it's got.
 
It's getting better, less soap drama now with the soft reboot, first week without Zane shouting at people has been refreshing.
 
This has done surprisingly well. I do not even notice Mike and Rachel being gone.

Katherine Heigl seems to be doing fine. I hope she is easier to work with now, as I read that she used to be very hard to work with in Hollywood. Don’t want her to annoy people on the set and make people want to leave the show. Also she uses tons of botox, it’s distracting sometimes. Lol.

Enjoying it, doesnt feel like it's missing characters but FFS the music is driving me nuts. It's not quite as bad as last season but that one piece of music they play at least twice every damn episode...rage.

yesterday's episode, where young Louis is getting punched in the kidneys. THAT music.
 
Great mid season finale. I am enjoying this season more than the last few for sure. I hope this keeps getting renewed :)
