Summer Temps

Had a few nasty crashes today so decided to poke around my system essentials.

RealTemp is reporting my cores between 35 and 39 on idle. Not good. Turned the setting on the H110i GTX up from "quiet mode" to full blast and only seen the lowest drop down to around 33.

While I'm sitting here in a T-shirt with the window open, its not exactly sweltering so I'm sure this isn't down to deltas.

Anyone else getting this, or am I due a repaste? Cooler is about a year old so I would hope it isn't down to the fluid performance decreasing. The corsair app is reporting the block at 32.5 so perhaps there is something up internally that wouldn't be fixed by a repaste.

Have you overclocked your CPU/GPU, is this the 1st time its crashed?

If you have try running at stock speeds and see what happens.

The crashing wasn't the issue, it was the catalyst to nose around. Fwiw I believe I was crashing after killing off some vr services while the vive was still powered on and plugged in. Haven't crashed since turning it off and rebooting.

At 4.7 temps were around 29-34 idle. Now they are 33-39 at 4.6.

Why are you quoting idle temperatures? 33C is practically arctic to a CPU.

What are you getting under full load conditions?

D3K, what case and cooler do you have? How old is the system and when was the last time it had a really good clean?

While 33c is not not, my system idle 5+c cooler than that with case and cooler fans at 300rpm.

Just looked and last 10 hour are 27-32c @ 282-382rpm Room is 28c right now.

I upped fan speed to 465rpm at idle and temps dropped to 30c .. 3c above ambient.
