Summer Transfer Window 2021/2022

Great article in the sun that I will para

IT was not exactly Wayne Rooney against Fenerbahce.

Jadon Sancho was handed a first start for Manchester United but there was no hat-trick and an assist like Rooney delivered on his club debut in the Champions League 17 years ago.

..., it was a forgettable performance from Sancho.

Sancho is a lover of private jets, taking a videographer on holiday and eating gold steak at flash restaurants in Dubai.

It is the sort of behaviour which infuriated Dortmund and he will have to knuckle down...

....In the past (after largely poor England performances), he returned to Germany and in relative terms, sort of disappeared off the radar in England and his poor games for Dortmund were ignored.

Just about sums the lad up. Over hyped, over confident, someone who needs to knuckle down and we pray we can sell him for more than £15m in the future.

Far too early to be writing off Sancho. If he has a really poor season then fair enough but hes started one game. The hardest teams to come into for some players are teams like United as well. The reason Fernandes has done so well is because he suits the way we play and our lack of structure and patterns of play. He looks for players and runs and picks them out. Its the reason Grealish doesn't make sense at City and why VdB is crap at United.

In theory Sancho should be a good fit for us but who knows.

I agree not to write him off just yet, but I haven't seen anything from him in 3 appearances that make me think wow.

I think diallo left a better impression because you could see something straight away. Sadly instead of trying to develop him and play him into the team we are trying to palm him off elsewhere (though now injured).

Nice of Willian to tear up his contract and save us £20m. Why can’t more players have that attitude instead of milking every last drop for contributing sweet fa

What sums up Arsenal is conceding a goal through a set piece header to a 5ft 11 Gundogan. That was just comical. That is mainly down to coaching as I fail to believe that Arsenal defenders are that bad.

Varane badly coached his whole career.

Under the ball, getting out jumped, bad posture.

Rumours still circulating that Lingardinho and Dan James are on their way out. I'll herald those exits more than the signing of Ronaldo. Fingers crossed and good luck to both of them.

You cannot really compare as it is his first game in a new club. You could see he got progressively better as the game wore on.

Not trying to be flip but are you telling me professional players with multiple European Cup and a world Cup medal jump differently depending on which club they play for?

It's not like he's been on Venus for 10 years, he played in the euros and has been training for weeks.

Another sign of just how poor things must be behind the scenes.

Maitland-Niles puts in two MoTM performances at wingback to win Arteta two trophies and now he can hardly get a game. He's a decent RB/RWB and that's arguably our weakest position currently (we're playing our worst CB there). He looked like another Arteta had no interest in and now Everton are interested we're making it seem like he's an important part of the team.

No but when you have a partnership that works or has been working for a while you end up getting positioning right. Positioning is everything for a defender. Your picture is purely down to positioning. Not because he cannot head a ball.

The premier league is a lot more intense then La Liga or the Bundesliga. Theyll take time to adjust.

Remember Werners comments :

“Everyone says there’s a lot of strength, a lot of big guys in defence, the Premier League is very fast and there’s a lot of high intensity. So i came here and thought it would fit me very well, but now I know it is much more than just what people say.

“There’s a lot more work in the Premier League. You have to do a lot more defensive work as a team than, for example, in the Bundesliga. What I get now is that fhe Premier League is really hard. Every game, whether you play against the bottom side or the third side, it’s always the same game.

“You can’t go to the bottom side and say it’s going to be an easy win today. You go to Burnley, you go to West Brom and it’s a hard game. It’s a very hard game and that’s what makes it a lot of fun. You can never have a break. You always have to be at 100 per cent, always at the top level and that’s something special in the Premier League.”

so after approx 90 mins of football for a new team in a new league , people already want to write off Sancho? How stupid

His goal scoring and assists record speak for themselves. Yes, he needs to acclimatise to the EPL and Man Utd's players, and get his fitness / stamina up, but he is still a very young kid returning home (to the UK) after a few years away.

Varane did very well yesterday, yeah he got outjumped once - but after that he did really well considering the very awkward away day Wolves always gives Utd.

Lingard and James really need to leave - not sure why Lingard has left it so late, he was never going to get the regular game time he needs at Utd going forward - but wish them both well if they do leave , even if Utd dont use the cash to pay for a cm /dm - which they REALLY need to.

He played there temporarily. He’s made it clear he does not want to play there full time. He wants to play CM, but he’s nowhere near good enough there.

Lingards wages will make a move to a mid table club challenging as he will potentially break the wage structure at a club like West Ham. If I were him I’d refuse to leave unless another club was going to match my wages, eventually they will agree to loan him out and subsidise his wages again especially now Ronaldo is arriving in mega bucks! I feel sorry for James Utd chased him and despite him doing very little wrong the club seem desperate to be shot of him!

He got "outjumped" three times and one should have been a goal. If thats very well then your bar is very low.

And that's the rub. He could have nailed down that position given our dearth of reasonable options, but shot himself in the foot.

The Martinez situation sums up Arsenal perfectly.

It sums up 20/20 hindsight and nothing more.

Martinez looked a capable keeper in occasional Cup action but was sent out on successive loans for many years pre-Arteta. He did very well standing in for Leno but, as confirmed by both Arteta and Martinez himself, left because we wouldn't guarantee him to be no.1 the following season. And rightly so as Leno had been excellent prior to his injury and wouldn't have deserved to have been automatically cast aside on the back of Martinez's 2-3 months form. In the end, it was Martinez's choice to take up the opportunity of regular football after numerous years as a backup rather than fight for the right to retain the jersey, and Arsenal facilitated his move. It now looks a bad decision because the trajectories of the two keepers has been inverse over the past 12 months, but wasn't clear-cut at the time.

The fee for Ramsdale is a largely irrelevant comparison here. It's a young player with two full seasons as a Prem no.1 and with the English tax on top vs a player 5 years older and with 2-3 months Prem form, where his highest level of football prior to that was one season in La Liga with Getafe in 2017-18.

Now it looks like the Nketiah to palace deal is off.

We are so bad at getting rid of deadwood. We’re like a bunch of hoarders, we just stockpile rubbish.

Willian, Nketiah, AMN should all be gone tomorrow. I bet only Willian will have gone and that’s only because he ripped his contract up.
