Summer Transfer Window 2021/2022

If he comes here and performs as he has at Dortmund he definitely is. Martial is a 8/10 player 20% of the time and a 4/10 player the other 80. Rashford has been crap for about 6 months now for whatever reason and Greenwood is still very young and needs time to develop.

Is he worth the £80m we are going to pay? Probably not. Is he going to improve our squad. Definitely.

If by some miracle we get Sancho and Varane then Ole has no excuses next season.

Our previous dortmund signings have done well in the EPL.

Very astute, we lost about £45m on the previous 2 deals. Not a great outcome.

Hes a very different style of player to Kagawa and Mhkitaryan. There is a reason players like that haven't thrived at United and why VdB won't thrive. We have never been a quick passing team with well drilled passages of play that we repeat.

I’d be wary of paying that fee for any Bundesliga player. How many apart from De Bruyne have really shone in the PL over the last 5 years or so?

I think it is a knee jerk reaction after the rioting last month. For me at least I wouldn't even bother with Sancho. Put that money into Grealish or even better into a decent young CDM and a experienced CB.

Yeah sorry I am a passive aggressive weebo lol.

I genuinely think vdb and James can play a role next season.

We do need to sign up pogba too though.

Nah, James is a headless chicken who doesn't get the space he needs in the PL for his "style" of football to be effective and VdB is a system player in a team without a system. Both will be gone in a few years.

I haven't watched much of James but I find it hard to believe what you said when Hartson's pretty much compared him to prime Ronaldinho.

Yep plus Saunders considers him a part of the best front line on the planet. Man United must be missing something.

Young, English and an international. Considering Maguire was 80 mil don't think that's too bad. Not sure it's where we needed to spend money though.

Is he an upgrade on what we already have?

I see he can also slot into RB/RWB, should provide good cover for whoever our 1st choice is going into next season. If he's good and this is part of a major rebuild then it's exciting, but it's hard to see where the rest of the budget is coming from and I'd much rather sign a few first team midfielders. For the first season in years, our defence wasn't really the problem area.

Take Maguire out of it and then look at it...

As for international, I mean yes technically but that was two friendlies so not really.

From watching Ben White this season at Brighton he does seem decent, 50mil decent I’m not sure but he is still quite young.

Will be a big loss to the Brighton side but can’t really turn down 50mil when it comes knocking. Welbeck just signed for another year at least :)
