Summer Transfer Window 2021/2022

Offered him double wages apparently

Tbh, I don’t think he’s as great as he’s cracked up to be

38 goal involvements in 98 games isn't the greatest but i guess it depends on the price. Rumours of a 60 mil price tag. I know the market has moved on but jesus thats a lot.

Wait...doesnt Smith Rowe play as a ten?

I'd be disappointed to see Maddison go but if we sell someone this summer I'd rather it be him than anyone else. For ~£60m I can see it happening. Tielemans leaving would be a much bigger hole to fill.

Rumour is Liverpool want Tielemans and if you believe some people, Leicester would be willing to sell for around double what they paid. Surely they wouldn't let James and Yuri both leave? It would devastate their midfield and mark the club as a perpetual selling one. Surely Rodgers wouldn't let this one stand? I mean I guess he could let one go to raise funds, but both? I really cannot see him allowing that, or staying if they're both sold on orders from above him. The fans would be absolutely livid as well.

The last 5 or so seasons we've had one big sale per summer, so I wouldn't be surprised if one went, but I wouldn't expect we'd sell both. Maddison signed a new contract last year I think, so we're not under any great pressure to sell him, although I think he'd be the one we'd rather let go. We've signed Soumare this summer, who I see as a future replacement for ndidi or tielemans in CM, but it would be too soon to sell either of those.

Yes and then went on to score something silly like 50 odd goals in a season. Lol

I think most top teams wouldnt complain about adding Tielmans or Ndidi to be honest, but Leicester are brilliant negotiators (and rightfully so of course) , either would probably cost twice as much as Leicester paid.

Personally Ive always thought there was a bigger quality gap between top and bottom of the Spanish /Italian and French leagues than there is in the EPL - there may be two or three highly competitive teams in each league but the drop off to mid-table and then relegation just seems to be larger abroad (but maybe its more on appearance rather than backed by stats).

There's certainly no 'top 6' in Ligue 1, La Liga or Serie A that's for certain.

spain have had more CL and EL winners this last decade than the PL. showing the depth. Just blatantly ruling out guys like Messi, Neymar, Benz, Lewa because they haven’t scored against Brighton or West Ham is laughable.

You could argue because their league is easier you have more time to rest players for the big games. We have two domestics cups and no longer can you play a B team against Derby County in the premier league and still win 3-0.

Also champions league just like the Euro's and world cup is a spawny competition.

Is Chelsea a better team than Man City, is Villarreal a better team than Manchester United? No to both but yet they are both champions.

I get your point and do agree with them, somewhat at least however I can’t agree that you have to play in the PL to be classed as good or not just stat padding.

You can’t seriously suggest that Messi wouldn’t score loads of goals for this City? (Or the Utd teams under Sir Alex) or even this juve team who didn’t win the league for the first time in a decade.

Arsenal have signed Nuno Tavares from Benfica for £8 million.

Know nothing about him, but with Kieran Tierney's injury issues it'll be good to have some decent cover.

hold on, if you know nothing about him how can you say "good to have some decent cover" ??

Unless Tielemans has a fairly modest release clause in his contract then I can't see him leaving Leicester, certainly not to us. Leicester will want upwards of £50m for him and although I like him, he's not worth that.

Release clause is £51m, I can't believe its that low from a player of his calibre. :(

We've become so blase over transfer fees and when you've sold Maguire for £80m it's easy to understand why you'd think £50m for Tielemans is cheap but I'm really not sure it is.

£50m is right at the top end of what I think Tielemans is worth, certainly to a club like Liverpool. If we signed him, at least in short to medium term, he'd be nothing more than another midfield option and possible wouldn't start the biggest games if all of Fabinho, Henderson and Thiago were available. Spending £50m on that sort of player, when there will be comparable players available in France & Germany for half that fee this summer, just doesn't make sense. If you're going to spend £50m+ you'd want somebody that was going to be an obvious upgrade on what you have.

I can understand why Leicester would demand that full £51m (if he has a clause) or more if there's no clause but short of somebody specifically identifying him as the one player they want (like Utd with Maguire) then it's difficult to see who will pay £50m+ for him. There's very little money outside the PL and with a lot of European clubs desperate for cash, there's going to be some bargains to be had.

You are way off the mark here. There is always money available in football.

Our players are under contract, clubs want to buy them, they pay the price we set, unless there is a release clause.. Just like these transfers below.

Maguire £80m
Mahrez £62m
Chillwell £50m

Personally, I hope Liverpool has the same opinion as yourself. Would love if Tielemans signs a new deal at Leicester.

Brentford likely to announce Frank Onyeka in the next few days - signed from sister club FCM for club record fee... which may well be broken in the coming weeks as we're in for Kristoffer Ajer at Celtic.

Would be pleased with those two signings to kick things off... as all we've signed so far is a new turmeric partner :D

Rumours that we're in for Wilson at Liverpool are all rubbish it seems. Reckon we're going to need to bring in at least one or two wide players, a right back, back up left back, a centre half... and maybe another midfielder!

Not too much to do then!
