Summer Transfer Window 2021/2022

Nobody actually thinks Ronaldo is better though, I don’t even think Utd fans do either. Unless it’s for trolling purposes.

He can’t have played for free either as under Spanish law the contract can only be 50% less which would have still had the wages at 110% of their revenue.

Greizmann is on something like 800k p/w where’s the calls for him to take a significant pay cut? Messi getting a lot of blame for the **** poor management of the club over this last decade.

people should be annoyed that he’s taken the easy dull boring route going to the richest club in the world rather than the challenge of going to say Man Utd, Milan etc and getting them am back into the big time. Or taking a say Napoli to greatness and become a hero.

I think Ronaldo is a better player. Better with both feet and with his head, more records were broken by him, PROVEN trophies winner everywhere he went.

Messi hasn't been the same since Xavi and co retired and left, Ronaldo has proved he can adapt everywhere. I mean Messi is one of the greats, but I believe Ronaldo is a better, more complete player.

Ronaldo played for Man Utd, Madrid and Juve. Hardly a surprise that he’s a proven winner at those clubs. Having said that he only won 2 league titles in Spain due to Messi sheer dominance. Madrid had more trophies than Barca before Messi played, they now have more.

Yeah, and Messi didn't beat him in those 2 years to the title did he? if Messi was THAT good?

You are right that Ronaldo won titles at Man U, Madrid and Juve...like i said, trophies everywhere he went. Fact. How do you put a NEGATIVE spin on the fact that he won everywhere he went, unless you are trolling.

It's like me saying, no wonder Messi won all those titles in Spain, he had Neymar, Xavi, Alonso etc etc to carry him.

You can have your opinion that Messi is a better player, I can have my opinion that he is not. Statistically, Ronaldo has won more trophies in more countries and holds more records than Messi. Just look up the stats who scored more goals in history. Statistics don't lie...and the answer is not Messi. So if you want to back up opinions with facts, there are more facts behind my argument...factually speaking.

I'll be honest, I was about to join the debate and label Messi the goat but yea, start a new thread if you want to debate something like this.

Theres probably little point. Its been a debate that has raged for probably a decade and I have never known anyone to change their mind. I think it depends on what you value in a footballer and how you define greatness which differs from person to person. Some won't even entertain calling a footballer the GOAT unless they have single handedly won the WC for their country.

Either way, we can all agree that its Messi and Ronaldo fans are just deluded.

There is no point. I was more debating on his statement that anyone disagree with his opinion and have their own are trolling.

Would Messi even have been able to compete at the level he has without the HGH?

That's why Ronaldo is the GOAT.

Anyway, I cant believe united havent signed a central midfielder, it's such a glaring weakness and we cant properly challenge without it being sorted.

I'm hoping there is still some work they might do in the transfer market, but i'm starting to get an uneasy feeling that this could be it... :(
(Not that 'it' is that bad to be fair, but just one more signing... please!)

I think any other purchases are dependant on sales maybe.
Indeed, that's what i've read. But can't see any happening now. I've read they've ruled out moving Martial on and Pogba is probably dead in the water with Messi at PSG until Jan where I expect he might sign a pre-agreement if we're not careful. Lingard is an outside possibility for moving on, and there's the usual deadweight like Pereira and Jones who just can't be shifted.

I cant see anyone they are going to sell for enough money (esp given they want to be within the £75m-£100m spent once the window closes).

Pogba isnt going anywhere now (as PSG looked the only likely option before this last weekend), and imo will go for free next summer to where ever he wants
I was kind of hoping Martial would be sold - but can kind of understand given Rashford is out for 3 months , and terrible cover is better than no cover lol
Dalot isnt going anywhere because Milan look as though they cant afford to sneeze, and just another free season loan with no obligation (which is complete bs imo after having him for a season already)
Periera might go but thats gone very quiet but not likely to raise that much imo
Even Lingard is adamant he is staying...and no one can afford DDG

I honestly dont know which is more crucial , someone like Trippier who would be very useful in certain games (albeit less so now Sancho is here), or a DM /CM that is deserving of a starting place from the off (which imo Camavinga was never going to be and could take a season or two to get up to speed).

I can't believe Man United haven't binned off Jones, Bailly, Matic, Dalot, Mata, Lingard already?

What does Jones have on united? :D

Supposedly Moyes actually wanted Jones (and we were prepared to release him a year early) but wages were too high , understandably , for WHU

Some people actually want to sit on their ass and watch their career go bye bye ( surely a 2 or 3 year deal on less money but actually have the potential to play is better than 1 year on stupid money but showing where yur head is at in a bad way to possible future employers).
