Summer Transfer Window 22/23

his last 3 lengthy spells out have all been knee injuries that aint good

Missing 17 matches and 95 days through injury across all competitions for the German giants, things have not entirely been rosy for the 21-year old throughout the course of the season.

With a host of suitors noticing a pattern of constant injuries suffered by the in-demand forward, it has been suggested that the youngster is miffed with this growing reputation about his fitness issues.

Borussia Dortmund boss Marco Rose recently admitted that Erling Haaland is ‘playing through pain’ in training sessions, and has refused to take an MRI to fully assess the extent of his ankle injury.

No, they haven't. Last 3 have been Muscular and hip flexor. Missing 13 games due to it. 2 different injuries, not the same place.

Here is the breakdown of injuries. I don't know how someone can say he's injury prone though

Here's Mane as a random pick

lol youve posted that list and cant see why he's injury prone?

21/22 season

muscular - 42 days - 6 games

hip flexor - 35 days - 7 games

muscular - 18 days - 3 games

so this season alone hes missed 16 games and 95 days

thats almost a 1/4 of the year

but you dont see why people think hes injury prone?

really......

one particularly bad year, is that predictive? Not really. They've been different areas on his body. He's a young forward against physical defenders. Anyway, this is all a bit daft. The City medical team obvs don't think he's injury prone.

20/21 was basically the same he had 4 bouts of injurys on the sideline missing a total of 10 games

the boys got paper legs

are we talking about haaland or are you trying to take the debate somewhere else
Providing context.

So do you consider Smith Rowe injury prone?
I personally wouldn't. He had a couple of unfortunate injuries

I know there's this automatic assumption that he'll score goals for fun and City will win everything, the League Cup, FA Cup, PL, CL, Super Bowl etc etc but City will have to make a fundamental change to how they play to fit him in. Maybe it will work and he'll score for fun and City will be even stronger or maybe he'll become another Ibrahimovic and Pep will just not be able to find a way to fit a big powerful centre forward into his side.

Arsenal fan forums certainly seem to think Smith Rowe is injury prone

Hasn't been over the last couple of years though. I remember the talk of Smith Rowe being injury prone, but he's worked through it. That's the point im making, a bad year at Dortmund isn't predictive that it'll be like that for the remainder of his career. Is Harry Kane injury prone?

Just this season by the look out of it, being knocked out of the cups early and having no European football has clearly helped him in that regard - we'll see if he holds up next year when you have a far busier schedule.

Flog him for 3-4 years and then sell him for a ridiculous amount. Unless he has a massive fall off in form or horrible injury record he will be great for City and they will make a lot of money if they ever decide to sell him.

..i don't think he'll play every game anyway, it's not advisable to play a 21yo 50/60 games a season.
Its not about playing 50 or 60 games a season, Smith Rowe hasn't always started in the league, he's come off the bench quite a few times. But the difference to getting game time at weekends and then having a European game during the week is huge compared to being able to manage an injury prone player once a week.

Bit of an odd comparison. In 20/21 and 21/22 Haaland has had 6 musculoskeletal injuries, and Mane has had none.

Edit: Jury's out on him in my book. The best people to know how worthwhile the risk is at this stage are City - they'll have given him rigorous medicals and decided he's worth whatever risk is there.

It's a ridiculous comparison. Mane's missed the same amount of games in 6 seasons as Haaland has in 3. That said, it's not surprising that Haaland has had the number of injuries as he has due to his sheer size.
