As said numerous times, the club has been ruined by poor decisions from the owner and his fat pie eating mate Kenwright.

He's arguably the worlds greatest ever player in his twilight years. He's the epitome of the generation that's being left behind by the best sides (it's now the eleven over the individual)..
He isn't changing what's worked for him his entire career... he wants to go get his last remaining stats which United can't offer him.
United took a ridiculous gamble last year and it's backfired... let him go and just move on.
I know it isnt all about stats but 7 goals in 140 odd games for an attacking player is frightening. One assist and 0 goals in 38 games last season.

And the thing is if we had said at the start, find a club who will meet the arrangements.
If he couldn't then he would have to accept he would stay and it would show him we we ameniable to him.
Rather than try and hold him hostage and habe apublic to and fro-ing.
It just shows how little we have in the nouse department at the club as now it will be a big fiasco and protracted.
I said previously that I didn't believe Ronaldo would have asked for a transfer without having a move lined up but it looks like he did. I can only think his ego made him believe clubs would be falling over themselves to sign him. I suspect he'll still find somebody to take him but it's been fun watching so many clubs knock him back.

This is quite the mental gymnastics. He has been whoring himself around to every top club and been rejected by all of them. Hes now come back, tail between his legs and is trying to get United to make his life easy by either releasing him completely from his contract and probably subsidising his wages on the proviso that he will come back next year if we are in CL.
Hes being an entitled ***** and United should tell him to buy out his contract or find a buyer or he stays. I would rather he was shunted to the reserves for the season than take the ****.
If he didn't want to stay if we didn't get CL football then he should have put a release clause into the contract. He didn't because he thought he is Ronaldo and can do what the **** he wants. Well he can't.

Utd can't come out and say publicly that they are happy to sell him - otherwise they weaken their selling position. But do we know what they've said to Ronaldo privately?

Exactly. He could play for 50p/week if he really wanted to. But he doesn't. Because his ego wants to be on the biggest salary at whatever club he goes to. This is one of the reasons I didn't want him back. There was never a good ending to the story no matter what happened.
