Summer Transfer Window 22/23

So we can add squad depth to things you don't understand then. Also note that nowhere in the post you linked does it say Sancho would be the backup, you've just made that up.

Edit: omg I just looked at the thread, I even had to explain to you what squad depth and rotation is back then and you still don't understand. You're like the Liverpool fans version of Adam.
ah yes your squad depth argument, lets spend 75 million on a squad player with gaping holes throughout our 1st team. This also the thread with your famous comparison to Phil Foden as a 'squad player' even though Foden racked nearly 3500 minutes of competitive 1st team football in the season in question as opposed to an actual squad player like Jesus at man city who hit 2800 minutes of competitive football. Like I said, embarrassing.

United are also interested in Borussia Monchengladbach goalkeeper Yann Sommer.

The club are looking for a goalkeeper to provide competition for first-choice David de Gea, who made two glaring errors leading to goals in the 4-0 defeat at Brentford, and reserve option Tom Heaton.

There is a feeling, however, that Sommer, who has a contract until 2025, would want to be a No 1 amid reported interest from two other Premier League clubs.

Sadly what I truly think would break the forum rules but I'll just say go and try and read what I wrote again and see if it breaks through this time.

He's a more modern style keeper so at least he gives us another option if De Gea can't adapt to what ETH wants from him. Fee shouldn't be too bad either

At least they are getting something back in him, nothing will top the Pogba saga though.
If United are serious about rebuilding the team to challenge they'll have to be prepared to write off quite a bit more. They've been stupidly greedy in the past in trying to dispose of overpaid players and it's cost them more. Lingard is the best case in point. Clearing out Jones, wan Bissaka, Bailly, Tuanzebe, Williams. I'd include Chong and Pellestri. Get them off the wage bill and create some opportunity for youth. wan Bissaka is probably on over £100k a week so £5m a year in wages. Mengi can play Right back if he hasn't been loaned yet.

The Glazers don't want to write off assets, thats why we keep giving new contracts to players who obviously aren't used and aren't going to be sold. This is what happens when you're run by people who don't understand football and won't employ people to do this thing for them that do understand football.

And also sources in Spain say the Casemiro deal is a possibility. He's on £180k a week at the moment and we've tabled a 5 year contract at £360k a week.

Casemiro would shore things up though, big time. One of the best in his position and he should have another 2-3 seasons in him.

Seems like some panic is setting in.
