Summer Transfer Window 22/23

I don’t think anyone is claiming the club is run well. It isn’t, it’s a shambles that acts as a credit card for the Glazers.

However, in isolation, signing one of the best players in the world in his respective position, still in his prime, isn’t a bad thing. None of us have any say financially, aside from the fact everyone is making it clear they want the Glazers gone, regardless of who we sign.

We can argue about finances until the cows come home but ultimately one deal doesn’t matter. We are never going to realistically get players cheaply. Especially under the current ownership.

Aren't we all like that with signings tho? I have massive doubts over Darwin yet Im hopeful he turns out decent - posted this about him back in April for example.
That’s the thing, we always have to have hope when we see negatives at our respective clubs. Big or small. If all we saw were negatives, why bother supporting them.

Absolutely ****ing **** show of a club.

What a bunch of muggy ****s.

No issues with the signing, but the financials? What an utter joke. We're officially the place people go for their final pay day.

Why the **** do we keep singing 30 year olds? Oh, I know, because there's no plan as nobody has a ****ing clue.

The club disgusts me. It'll be a long time before they get a penny from me.

****s sake.

Edit: just read BBCs analysis of him. Slow on the turn, no pace, past his best, works best when surrounding by top quality players (who doesn't). Sounds like just what we need. Only £60m and will be costing us £1.4m a month for how many years? His stats, from what I can see (and it's late) seem similar to McFred, albeit in an easier league. Stats here https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/62603699

A bloody bargain.

He's n

Matic, not even 5 mill?

Mata, again not even 5mill from Newcastle or someone?

Pogba, we paid 80m. 1 season before the end of his contract you'd think we could get 10-20m? We bought varane for over 35m and he only had 1 year left..

Lingard, worth 10m easily to Wham or Forest or someone a tear ago surely?

Combined that's 20-40m, plus saving 30m wages? Criminal how the club is run.

Could not sell them due to wage demands.

Real Madrid probably can't believe the bit of business they have just done. Incredible.

Why do you think they pushed him out of the door so fast?

Usually our transfer negotiations take months.

Real knew it was too good to be true and weren't hanging around for a better offer where they?

You can argue CL money etc but honestly this deal costs more than CL qualification could possibly bring us anyway.

Real bending United over big time.

Another 4 top signings to replace starting players and they might compete for a CL place

If Chelsea got Maguire and he played ina. Back 3 with James/koulibaly or Silva/koulibaly, you would see a completely different Maguire and it would work.

I didn’t have doubts with Jesus? When your main strikers have been Laca and Nketiah, you can be damn sure Jesus will be a massive upgrade. I did have major doubts over Tavares and was proved right in doing so. I also have doubts about this Vieira chap, he looks like a stiff breeze could knock him over.
