Summer Transfer Window 22/23

I didn’t have doubts with Jesus? When your main strikers have been Laca and Nketiah, you can be damn sure Jesus will be a massive upgrade. I did have major doubts over Tavares and was proved right in doing so. I also have doubts about this Vieira chap, he looks like a stiff breeze could knock him over.

I don’t really have doubts about Casemiro. I’ve seen him play many times, including against the top teams in England and he’s always been very good. He’s 30 not 35 - could quite easily have 2 or 3 strong seasons left. Fernandinho managed it.

We have been lacking a good defensive midfielder for the best part of a decade and we’ve bought a ready made one.

I don’t really care about the finances as the Glazers bleed the club dry, so I’d rather more money was invested in the footballing side of things. Nothing is going to happen with the stadium and infrastructure until there’s movement on the ownership/shareholder front. Real Madrid wanted to keep him so wouldn’t have sold him cheaply. I think people forget what transfer fees look like these days, unproven players are going for a fortune.

It would actually be impossible to buy a lot of younger players in the hope they establish themselves. The negative attention the club gets is off the scale and the vast majority of players would struggle with that.

I think it’s quite telling most people were taking the **** saying there’s no way he’d join. Well, it looks like he is.

You only have to look at the difference of the media coverage for Casemiro and Koulibaly. Where was the article about how Koulibaly will fit in? Meanwhile not even 24 hours and we've already got an article on the BBC about whether Casemiro will or won't succeed. The difference in coverage and pressure of us is huge.

Talk sport this morning had a massive list of players linked to United 90% of lies and rubbish. I would take everything the media say in transfer talk as utter nonsense half the time. They are all worse than Chinese whispers.

Mane went to Bayern at 30 for 35 Million so only 15 million shy of the 50 we are paying. Both on similar wages yet it was a steal for Bayern.

A decent CDM is almost as hard as finding a decent No9. You only have to look at Kante, Fab and Fernandinho to how integral they are to make that team tick.

If you are using full value of the Mane deal, at least use the full value of of the Casemiro deal :p £25 million difference, and attackers always go for money.

Wasn't the.mane deal 27.5 initial up to 35 and Casemiro deal is 60 initial up to 70. Potentially 35 mill diff. I'd say that's pretty significant. Mane has also hit the ground running, surrounded by world class players in the Bayern team.

oh yeah you are correct, I still thought it was the initial reported £60 million, but up to £70m is even more insane. That's even more hilarious. Pants well and truly pulled down.

United get the clicks, not rocket science.

We've been needing a quality CDM for years, We've finally got one. Given all the dead wood we've got off the salaries, the cost isn't that big a deal really. The most important thing is getting back to top 4.

Everton looking to sign Mohammed Kudus on loan from Ajax.

A young attacking midfielder with lots of potential. Had quite a few injury issues which worries me a bit.

You are taking the Mane deal in pounds and the Casemiro deal in Euro's. Lol. You are just as bad as the media. Even the final figure isn't agreed yet. Chinese whispers again.

£ figure taken directly from BBC and sky. It's hardly Chinese whispers. LoL.

"BBC Sport’s Simon Stone reports Manchester United will pay 60 million Euros now and 10 million Euros in add-ons"

It is on his Twitter then some noob has put it in pounds on the BBC website.

Thank you for helping me show how the media are.

Does it really matter… I have no issue overpaying for an elite player. We’ve spent £20m+ on the likes of Amad!

We’re not in a good negotiating position. I’d rather we throw some money around now and keep ETH in a job so he at least has a fair crack at it.
