Summer Transfer Window 22/23

You will always overpay when you are desperate, and when you have no champions league football or much else to offer like United at the moment. They are paying through the nose for everyone.

That leaves the question though, are player just joining for the money? Could you be left in another mercenary situation 18 months down the line?
They don't need to be that desperate though. There are plenty of better value options then 80m for Anthony. It will be hard not to appear a failure with that price tag.

Dele officially gone.

It's amazing how we'll be going into the Brentford game with a worse squad and still no striker for the 4th PL game of the season.
I don't find it amazing, it's FFP that's going to cripple a club that has money to spend (waste) but cannot. Everton are going down, they are awful and will end up in more financial trouble than if they could just carry on throwing money at it. I detest everything the club is and has been the last 6 or so years. When they go down it won't register any higher in my day than a sneeze.

I think the No champs league thing is a bit of fallacy tbh. We’ve seen a few teams outside of the champs league pick up top players this year for decent prices. Newcastle ano Arsenal two examples of teams who have picked up some real quality, even West Ham look like they’ve got Pacquefa who is highly rated as is Onana at Everton. There’s been a few more dotted around as well.

Theres no doubt the CL gives you an edge, but not as much of an edge as people seem to think.

Yeah is suppose it's all circumstance of the deal but i think it's stilla factor in some cases. You could use the Antony deal as an example. He's leaving champs league for Europa but i think he's going to get a humongous signing on fee and wages doubled, so probably doesn't give a ****.

Personally I rather see the big money used for a creative midfielder similar to Modric, Pirlo or Zidane. Ok, few and far between, but do we really need another wide player?

Chin up we've signed Neal Maupay. So we have a striker at least.

Do people really need to give you examples of players who can be bought for under 80 million?

I mean if you're talking just players then West Ham are going for one as we speak. Even Depay would be a better option and a 10th of the price. Antonys price tag is obsurd given he's a in a poor league and isnt exactly tearing it up.

80 mil is outrageous.

No what's crippled your club is in your very post. Poor spending not FFP.

So Depay is better than Antony then? You mean Paqueta? He's not even a winger

He said better value option i.e. players who would improve United.

Antony was 21st in the top scorers for his league last season. Yes he made 23 appearances but some non league sides in England have a higher capacity of that in the Dutch league its that poor. I mean who here has heard of "Go Ahead Eagles" ? He's hardly a shining light is he.

To answer your question, Depay is better then Antony yes. In 3 years maybe not but 80 mil isnt a "potential" value signing.

Why is Antony worth 4 times what Leeds paid for Sinisterra?
