We're past that point but we're paying for the Glazer's incompetence. If we'd gone after him at the start of the summer he'd likely be almost half the price. In the end you can't put money out on the pitch. Would I rather have Antony or a kid that isn't good enough out there and some extra money to go into the Glazer's pocket? Tough choice.

I know hes 29 I said he could be a 3 year fix while we identify some non 100m rated 22 year old who have low output in a third tier league (rangers knocked psv out - that's how low the Ere really is)

I suspect Keita's off. A few stories started coming out from Germany before the Utd game and then he was struck down with a mysterious injury the day before the game. While it's certainly not unusual for Keita to get injured, my gut feeling is it's *******s and he'll be sold in the next few days.

Not a big loss to be honest, he never really delivered for Liverpool, glimpses of quality were few and far between

I've seen multiple reports not from anywhere i've trusted before of 25m,35m bids rejected in the last week or so. Would give good depth to the midfield. We can't rely on Bruno never getting injured or suspended, he's so key to us.

Newcastle has had a master class at handling the press. "Newcastle have a small budget" "FFP". "Exepected more from Newcastle"

Meanwhile around 200m spent in two windows.

Apart from the Botman Transfer which was played out in the press (Nice trying to start a bidding War) the transfers were near enough done before the press got wind.

Ashworth and Nickson was in Spain on Sunday to get Isak.

Wonder if he'll be happy with Caicedo when he signs or if he wants a 'big name'? Keita's out of today's game aswell.
 
Isaak scored 6 goals in 32 games last season and cost over 60 million. How is that a good deal? That's about as crazy as the Antony money. Pretty sure Joelinton had better stats and look how that worked out.

I think maybe due to him being so awful up front that people are overreacting with his midfield prowess. He's very limited he just runs a lot from what I've seen.
 
You forget that Joelinton has that brasil tax though.

Strange Ajax didn't pay a brasil tax when they bought Antony or pay an Argentinian tax when they bought Lisandro Martinez for 7m.

Or that we didn't get a brasil tax when we sold Anderson.

Or can't get any tax for Telles who we have inexplicably loaned out instead of selling...
