However I suspect Torreira won't get a look in, it will be Xhaka there.
 
Reports that Spurs have agreed a £25m fee for Bissouma.

That’s a steal, but I guess the 1 year left on contract and the legal case against him reflects that.

The interest in Tchouameni shows that we're open to signing a CM but as is always the case with us, if the player(s) we want aren't available then we won't panic and sign 2nd rate players. And tbf, we're hardly short of central midfielders right now. We have 8 senior central midfield options and yes, a few of the key ones pick up a niggle or two, we're not going to struggle to field a side.

As I mentioned earlier in the thread re Nunez and our attack, I wonder whether we're going to tweak how we play again this summer and maybe that will involve moving slightly more towards a 4-4-2/4-3-3 hybrid with Salah almost playing as a 2nd striker and the right of our midfield 3 playing wider, meaning we're only playing 2 proper CM's. Towards the back end of last season we were mostly only picking from Keita, Thiago, Fab and Hendo for the 3 midfield spots, maybe it will be 2 from 4 rather than 3 from 4 next season.

I’m quietly confident that we’ll get Jesus. Just a fee to agree and it’s pretty close.

If we do though, we’ll have to play Elneny as there’s no way we’ll lose with Jesus and Mohammed in the same side

Would they have to wait a season for another 80 million transfer beacuse of FFP? I know Dortmund have said they are only open to letting one marquee player leave per season, Sancho>Haaland>Bellingham?

I just feel we could do with some fresh young legs in midfield.

I think we will tweak the playing style a little next season.

For all our attacking brilliance, there are games you feel we could play all day and not score. Those tightly packed well organized defences we struggle against. Three finals and didn't score in any of them.

I think someone like Nunez who is more physically imposing will give us a plan B mode of attack to help breach this kind of setup.
 
For me, we need a "spare" Fabinho - either a younger version, or a slightly worse version who accepts sitting on the bench (or can surprise people and push to start, a la Jota).

I'd like to see us moving for Sander Berge as a realistic signing who won't break the bank.
