Summer Transfer Window 22/23

Rangnick suggesting to move a player on who had been there 6 months and had no suitors is mad if it's true.

I agree we should sell but only if we have a plan to how we replace him.

He probably said it as in 'sell in the summer' as a plan for the future. As fantastic as Ronaldo is, Man Utd need a plan to grow for the future and he isn't key to that. He served his purpose of bringing in higher standards and without him, god knows how low down the table Man Utd would have been last season.

There are very few potential suitors unless sponsors step in to pay some of the wages etc. I suppose that could happen.

Even if we have no plan to replace him, we can't keep him. It will cause huge problems.

I'm sure a suitable replacement striker can be found, there's a few out there.

Would love it if he went somewhere random like Villa.

And what a strange journey for Eriksen, like the sound of him joining Utd. I just pray we don't send his career into a pit like so many other players lol.

Pogba replacement on a free. And way more consistent too. I was going to say he will have better players round him than at Brentford but I'm really not so sure!!! :D:cry:

I know who I'd rather have in my midfield if it was between Norgaard and McTominay!

It should have been clear with Rangnick leaving that nothing has changed at Utd but their transfer targets put any doubt to bed that they've not changed. There's no top down approach with the manager/coach fitting into a structure of the club, allowing for continuity if and when he leaves. Utd are doing what they've done for the past 10 years of appointing a manager, totally different from the last, allowing him to buy his players and will rip everything up and start again with the next manager in 24-30 months time.

Unless they actually do keep ETH for many years. But i suspect the fans will get bored of the very slow football that's inevitably coming their way

They will only keep ETH if he's successful though. The reason clubs put structures in place above the manager is that if and when the manager does need changing, you're not having to change half the squad because they're not suited to how the new manager wants to play.

Am I allowed to post mediocre-united.gif?

Is it just me who's thinking United need Phillips more than City? Mind you, I'd have joined City if I was him, rather than a club living off former glory.

I would agree with this. All of our eggs are in the Ten Hag basket now, so we need to get the players he wants and hope he's good enough to rival Klopp/Pep.

Perhaps they'll start to implement a better structure going forward, but there's no evidence of that yet.
