Summer Transfer Window 22/23

Yea I like Harrison but not at 25mil plus

Yeah, City were at least in the process of rebuilding their infrastructure.

Newcastle were giving season tickets away and all sorts, the place was toxic, I could have had free tickets for most matches if I wanted them.

Now you find them next to rocking horse poo, but there's still a lot to do in the background despite the new enthusiasm, according to my friends who follow them closely anyway.
Background work doesn't count for FFP. Our training facilities are worse than most championship clubs.

New CEO, (the guy who built Atlanta from nothing) Dan Ashworth as DOF.

Work has started on the training ground to improve the facilities until a City/Leicester type complex is built.

Stadium improvements on-going. Talks ongoing on capacity increase or new stadium.

Looks like Lindgard will be playing at St James on the opening day....

It's looking like we (Forest) might just be putting a squad together that might stay up.

Absolute quality signing for forest that is

Maybe, I'm hoping being a Big Fish will inspire him, but slight fear he'll disrupt things and be a prima donna.

He's already blown apart the normal PR format for announcing signings by doing it on his own Twitter before the club did. Then the owner's son couldn't help himself posting a selfie, so the club gave up and just shared that instead of their normal PR dept posts.

Think only concerning thing is one year deal

Is that because hes got no confidence forest will actually stay up or is it because he intends moving on regardless

I would have it more likely they don't want the chance of being lumbered with a 180K wage if they go straight back down.

You can put clauses into contracts for that sort of thing though. I would think he is hoping he can have a good season and go to a bigger club for similar/better money next season. Think hes gone to Forrest because they are paying him the most.

The money is no doubt a huge thing, but I hope the fact hes going to be on the team sheet every week up to the world cup means this is a no brainer for him if he can leave if we go down. That means he's come to work hard.

Must admit the whole revealing of him is a bit too Love Island generation for me though! And the article on the club site couldn't be more fawning about his myriad of achievements, which niggles a bit that he could be Billy Big ******.

I think exactly the same, they are paying the most he went there, will leave next summer and hope to play his way into another deal with a big signing on fee. He had his opportunity when West Ham threw him a lifeline and wasted it. What a waster.

Most expensive tiktoker in the prem.

It's kind of a circular discussion though right, I mean if they put a clause in saying "if we go down you take a 60% pay cut" he just doesn't sign the deal because he thinks that's quite a likely outcome. He won't want to be stuck around on a low salary in the Championship, he'll want to get a phat signing on fee somewhere else.

It's a one-year deal because the club won't commit to paying him megabux if they get relegated, and equally he won't commit to a long-term deal if it would involve taking a pay-cut.

The situation is, WC coming up so he wants to play in a team where he will be a regular starter in the Premier league. He probably still has ambitions of strutting his stuff for a club challenging for Europe so a short term commitment works out fine.

Dwight Gale finally leaving Newcastle.

On a free to Stoke. I believe Steve Bruce got him a 3 year deal. 40-50k a week cleared off the wage bill
He'll get plenty goals at that level, he's proven it. Good signing for them. He was always an option from the bench, albeit not a great one in this league, but Newcastle really are no stronger than we were when the season ended. Needed another centre forward before Gayle left.
I rate Wilson highly but he just doesn't play enough games.

They wouldn't left him go unless they are sure of a replacement.

Hopefully Lyon move on their price on Paqueta. He can play in multiple places and will add goals.

I think it's a pretty reasonable and smart deal all round tbh. I mean the wage is obscene but that's another discussion. 10 mil in todays market for a years service from a player I think is ok, personally think we'll see a bit more of this kind of thing in the future.

Loads of talk coming out of Portugal in the past few days linking us with a move for Matheus Nunes. There's been absolutely nothing our end though and Klopp's been very clear that we're not going to sign another midfielder, although did caveat that with 'unless somebody leaves'.

I suspect it's just Sporting trying to flush out interest from elsewhere but we do like a Portuguese based player of late.

It's is indeed rubbish, it was rubbish 10 odd days ago when the rumors 1st started to gain traction and it's rubbish now
