Do you honestly believe that Depay would be a massive upgrade over Lingard? People like to laugh a lot and he is a bit of a noob but he was a talented player. He was one of the better players in the England Squad during 17/18 and also during Jose's 81 point season finishing second. He also won us the FA cup with an absolute cracker. Was always a big game player.
Depay got his move to Barcelona due to Koeman links not because they really wanted him. He was also terrible for us. He has had one decent season. Look at his Dutch goals outside 21 and it is pretty terrible. He has also come at a time into the Dutch squad where they have no real strikers.
Yes, Lingard was/is spectacularly average at best, at least Depay has continually improved season on season since leaving you.Do you honestly believe that Depay would be a massive upgrade over Lingard? Are you seriously saying Lingard is better then Depay?
lol
I wasn't saying he is better
Lingard is a better player than Depay
As a bastion of positivity when it comes to the current MUFC... I have to ask... with the first match of the EPL fast approaching on August 7th, what happens if we don't get FDJ? Nothing? One has to assume this, given that nothing else has happened so far. Or will it be a panic buy at the last minute? Not sure how many times I've asked this, is there nobody better than Fred or McSauce out there? Will Garner be the answer?
I'd be interested in what the more postiive people on here think about MUFC's dealing this summer, assuming FDJ doesn't arrive.
Weren't you saying that one way or another the saga was going to be wrapped up 10 days ago and you had other targets if the deal didn't happen?ETH seems to be set on only getting the right players so won't just buy a player for the sake of it, kind of how Klopp has been. Not sure I agree with it but what can you do. I still think we'll sign FDJ but it'll go right down to the end, not much we can do about it given it's completely out of our hands for once.
I said that is what a journalist claimed. This may shock you but I personally don't have access to the club. Since then reports have come out that although the club has other options ETH isn't keen on them.Weren't you saying that one way or another the saga was going to be wrapped up 10 days ago and you had other targets if the deal didn't happen?
no but you are quite often dismissive shall we say, of people posting less than stellar twitter rumors and then took what talksport said as gospel, kinda amusing.I said that is what a journalist claimed. I did no such thing, I said they'd historically been poor but had a good record this summer. Stop making **** up to try and make yourself look smart.no but you are quite often dismissive shall we say, of people posting less than stellar twitter rumors and then took what talksport said as gospel, kinda amusing.

It's talksport who historically have been mostly an aggregator but this summer in particular anything that has 'talksport sources' has been pretty accurate.
I think we can all agree that talksport sources are 14 year olds on twitter.
Getting back to the original point, Utd not just signing anybody just because they miss out on their preferred target would be the best thing they can do. I know many supporters (myself included at times) want instant results and have this believe that something is better than nothing but signing the wrong players is often worse than signing nobody at all. If Utd sing the wrong player then they're lumbered with them because no club that wants a failed Utd player can afford to pay said players wages and not being able to move that player on will impact Utd's ability to sign the right player for years to come.
Every time someone says this I ask where they've got this from and nobody ever responds. Look how quickly we moved on from Timber earlier this summer when he decided he wanted to stay to try and secure a world cup spot. Do you really think we'd still be pursuing him if FDJ hadn't made it clear he was interested?FDJ isn't exactly itching to go to United.
