Summer Transfer Window 23/24

I thought Darlow was in his 20s! he should be a reliable enough between the sticks. His stats are pretty good when played.
Only leaving to clear out the wage bill. Thought he was decent enough when he played. There’s the odd highlight reel moment but every keeper has that.

(And wants more opportunities)

And another one out. Pitty this one didn’t work out. Fantastic at attacking and getting up pitch but very suspect at the defensive side. He’s been pretty decent for Norn Iron. It’s never got going for the Toon.

Looke like a headless (tattooed) chicken.

West Ham's £20m Maguire bid rejected

West Ham have had a £20m bid for defender Harry Maguire rejected by Manchester United.
West Ham are deciding whether to go back in with an improved offer. Wages are thought to be an issue.
It is understood Man Utd are not "pushing Maguire out" and he remains a valuable member of the squad.

Make it £25m and Wham can have Maguire. £30m for McSauce while you're at it.
£15m for Fred and Elanga, £10m for DvdB and £5m for Brandon Williams. Gives £100m for a couple more signings.

Surely Fred is worth more than £15m!!!!!!!! You'll see one of my outbursts if he goes for ****ing £15m.

£10m for Donny??? I'm starting to rage already

It's all a balance and there's always a group of fans somewhere that'll be unhappy. You can guarantee there would have been people out there complaining if Utd extended his contract to 2026 last year, questioning the clubs ambition etc. etc. and not thinking about whether it might help retain a bit of resale value.

People often seem to forget contract lengths when it comes to transfers - it's not a good place to be in terms of selling if you have a good player left on a short contract. Equally though, it's not good to be tied up with a long contract on a crap player no one else wants, so it's not necessarily any better trying to constantly have your whole squad on 3yrs+.

If we can get rid of Maguire for 30 million that would be good business.

I am worried about the Danish striker bid though. It is getting into the realms that buying Kane would just make more sense. He will Guarantee you 30 goals a season for at least 3-4 more seasons.

The Danish lad is unproven.

And then we can still not buy Kane for £100m

To be honest I'd rather not suffer the humiliation of being bent over and penetrated by Daniel Levy. I'd rather bring in a younger player and develop them.

Insane that Utd aren’t willing to let him go for £20m, holding on for £25m at this stage of the game is a bit daft to me.

They’ll end up just keeping him now. Same as what they done with JLingz as WHU won’t over pay for him.

Nah, let's get a proper striker who is almost a guaranteed success and then look to bring in a young, cheapish understudy...

32 games 9 goals for atalanta

worse than jesus ;)
I’ve done some research around Højlund’s numbers from last season — one interesting thing I found.— Scored 9 goals and registered 4 assists in 32 league appearances.— However, he only played the equivalent of 20.4 full 90s, as he was often subbed or didn’t start in those games.— So when you contextualise the data, last season he provided ~ 0.64 goals or assists per 90. Which means approximately in 2 of every 3 games, he’s contributing to a goal.I think it’s very important to contextualise data like this. People are saying “he only scored 9 goals last season, why are United buying him”. If you dig a little deeper, you’ll see why. It’s not just about the numbers as well, but I wanted to address this point. If you’re contributing a goal this frequently at such a young age in a European top 5 league, there has to be serious talent there. All the Højlund analysis to come soon in thread, article and YouTube form.
