Summer Transfer Window 23/24

Hope I'm wrong, but I just don't see him working out.

Yeah, I have a bad feeling about this one but I hope I'm wrong too. Lot of money for a young striker who has potential but isn't exactly pulling up trees and we are in desperate need of a striker to lead the line. As an understudy to a more established name perhaps but we are putting a lot of pressure on him.

As all the media around him likes to point out, he should definitely be compared to Erling Haaland. Both Scandinavian, blonde hair and tall.

Big transfer fee, big pressure and not a huge amount to suggest he is up to it. Like I say though, I really hope i'm wrong because its been a while since we had an exciting CF. Well, he who shall not be named excepted.

Hojlund cost ballpark near Nunez, so hopefully if he doesnt work out, Utd fans will allow all the same digs that we've endured over Nunez :D

Nunez was €100m inc. bonuses. Hojlund is €83m inc. bonuses.

Hojlund is wish.com Haaland and Nunez is wish.com Andy Carroll.

So no, I'm afraid we won't allow the same digs. I wish we could but its just not feasible at this point in time.

How about we all agree to point our digs at Rice and his €122m price tag?

You can’t aim any digs at any player until you see how they perform. And I like the way you use the euro figure to try and inflate it. Very transparent

With Rashford and Antony feeding him, I'm not so sure. Both are very greedy when they get anywhere near the goal. Hopefully that will change with a striker.
Well Rashford says he will score 35+ goals this season, so thats 50 goals for the team just between Rashford and Hojlund, should be banging them in

I don’t care who scores the goals but we must score more. We’d have finished second last season with a proper striker, so 30 goals more from the team will see us improve hopefully.

Thats where you are wrong. The best time to wind opposition fans up is after you have seen about 20 minutes of them play and they haven't scored a hat-trick. That was certainly my plan of attack when Nunez started. I think it was quite effective.

Hopefully Onnanasnanaans bloopers are outweighed by his ability to pass.

Hopefully Mount improves on last year.

Hopefully Hallaaand 0.1 can score better than he did the season before last (I seem to recall he didn't score many at all??)

Only ~£200m spent there. Then again, that's what you get when you've been lasminuteFC.com for years.

Last year Antony and Rashford were seen as our scoring threats (Martial being the sick note he is) so i think ETH will have given allowance for them to be greedy and opportunistic.

With a recognised striker and if he's getting in the right positions but being ignored then I reckon ETH will go through both of them if they don't play the opportunities as he sees them.

One of the things i think I appreciate in ETH is that he appears very disciplined in the changes he's making to transition to a squad and style of play he wants, gradual and not wholesale. But as we've seen he knows how to man manage and I think the expectations of how Rashford & Antony fit into the system will be different this season - but more likely again a somewhat transition year taking into account Hojlund's age and time to adapt to the team.

I think we're still 1 season away from having a full blown ETH starting 11 and 2 seasons till we have proper squad that's up to speed and flowing - My thoughts based on the transfer activity and transitioning from the mess of a team he inherited.

Hojlund £64m
Mount £55m
Onana £44m

Then about £12m in potential add-ons.

Hopefully Henderson and Maguire will be sold for about £50m+ along with a few other sales raising around £80m. If we do sell a few more players I imagine we will bring in another midfielder.
